Price Paid:  $725.00 from Ebay (12 Volt Kings)

Year / Model Reviewed:
2007 McIntosh MCC 302

Strengths:
Power, world class sound quailty throughout the entire frequency spectrum. Build quality. Decades of Mac build experience.

Weaknesses:
Big, bulky and heavy. I would have loved to put this thing under my seat to keep prying eyes from seeing it. Small complaint but I was a half of an inch away from installing it under my seat. Price, but you get what you pay for.

Summary:
This is what high end car audio is all about. Tons of power, world class sound quailty as well as build quality. The Mac gives my Focals one heck of a workout! This rates up there with my old Butler Tube Driver. Both are great amps but to my ears the Mac is clearer in the mids and highs. Zero brightness, which I've read from others Macs have been reported to have. The Butler has a warmer sound which appeals to a lot of people but there was also some "fuzziness" in the mids to the Butler that I didn't like. The Tube Driver was a pretty basic amp. Connections and gain which again some people prefer to all the bells and whistles. The Mac has crossover, 1 band Eq with gain as well as gain for each channel. A true dual mono design. Plus you buy a Mac and you get over 50 years of amp design and experience. The people at McIntosh know how to build amps! My JBL GTO 75.4 II has been relegated to rear fill duty. I'll be keeping this beast for a while!
