Price Paid:  $59.00 from local pawn shop

Year / Model Reviewed:
 deh-2400f

Strengths:
easy operation, great display, even better sound. pioneer quality.

Weaknesses:
got mine without manual, and with all the tricks i know, i still can't figure how to set the clock

Summary:
pioneer always makes them great! found this deh-2400f at the local pawn shop, and was very surprised at the quality of the unit, excellant display, even in direct sunlight, sound quality and skip factor were not a problem for this unit. even without the manual, it was easy to set up the eq pre sets to my liking..bottom line, for an inexpensive unit, this one has the quality that you want in sound quality, skip factor, long life

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $109.00 from Walmart of all place

Strengths:
Toned down good looks. Great display, super easy to read. Cheap price for flip down. Pioneer durability and usability.

Weaknesses:
Setting the clock actually requires a manual check, I don't like that. But seriously that and the only one pair of pre-outs is essentially it.

Summary:
What a sweet little receiver!! I have been converted from a Sony guy to a real life Pioneer diehard. Sony is so overrated it almost makes me want to cry. This deck is perfect. It has everything you need and nothing you don't. The flip down face was the first selling point, because that is a must to look all tricked out. Next was the great display. This is first deck I have ever had that I could see in direct sunlight. After that was price. I got the deck on clearance at Walmart while I was browsing the so called $79 12" subwoofer tubes, great sound I'm sure. The deck only has one pair of pre-outs but who uses the fade anyway. I have it sending signals to one pioneer 4 channel amp for my speakers, and one Audiobahn amp for my sub. The cd player is great, no skips over most any awful road, plays cd-r, cd-rw and all of that as if they were recorded in a factory. This deck is awesome. Nice black faceplate blends in with my dash and the whole thing looks right in place.

High end Sony models prior to birth of Xplod that wouldn't play a cd-r to save their lives. Oh well I should have learned years ago.

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $159.00 from Crutchfield

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2002 DEH2400

Strengths:
Easy to use Well laid out controlls Aestitically pleasing without looking cheap Neon blue background digital (Very aestitically pleasing) Flip down face Easy EQ

Weaknesses:
Small buttons-but after a while you will get used to where the buttons are

Summary:
Great CD receiver. They even make my factory speakers sound good (which I will be replacing). I like the flip down face and rotary knob volume control. The Easy EQ (equalizer) makes it easy to change the sound of the music depending on what you are listening to. It really brings out the music better. The controls are well laid out and easy to use. Buttons are small but I have not had a problem using them. One feature that no other CD receiver has is the solid blue background digital with white letters/numbers. In the picture is looks like light blue but in reality it is a vibrant blue and looks AWESOME at night (like neon). It will really make your dash stand-out. The higher end models (Pioneer) don't have the blue digital. If you plug it into an amp you probably won't notice the 2 watts/channel (RMS) increase.
