Price Paid:  $120.00 from Best Buy

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2000 Hyundai Accent

Strengths:
Everything

Weaknesses:
You have to memorize which button is for pause and repeat becuase in the dark you cannot see.

Summary:
This is a great stereo. The sound is very good and CD-R's sound so nice and the bass is great.

Review 2 of 8

Price Paid:  $125.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Toyota Corolla

Strengths:
Good sound, CD will never skip, It's realy easy to put the CD into the player. Fit in the factory place like the Toyota one. Bracket fit directly to the system. Wire harness color standard with the 3Rd party compatible Toyota harness I've bought. Loudness function sound very well.

Weaknesses:
The small marking over the 9 small buttons on the bottom of the radio.

Summary:
This is a very good sound system for the price.
Look modern. Sound is very good. Radio reception in very good and the auto-detection of the best station work well.

Best solution for someone that want to replace a tape player with a fair sound system.

Similar Products Used:
Sound realy better than the 2001 Toyota Corolla CD sound system for a little portion of the price. CD player work better with home made CD-R than original Mazda MX-6 CD player.

Review 3 of 8

Price Paid:  $130.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1995 Chevy Corsica

Strengths:
Good Price, Good Sound, Doesnt Skip, Looks Good, Easy Installation, Easy to Operate

Weaknesses:
It gets a bit hot. It could have been free. :)

Summary:
I would recommend this cd player to anyone who wants a decent head unit for a good price. It looks and sounds good. I like the way it takes the cd, you have to apply almost no pressure before the unit takes the cd and sucks it in. It is easy to read in the dard and has a bunch of nifty features. 18 fm presets and 6 am presets are verry handy, the Sony only had six fm presets. It actually has a working clock, the Sony cd player didnt even keep the time. Both cd players are better than road gear but i think that the pioneer is the best buy. Spend the extra money and get a good cd player. Wally World has this cd player and a set of speakers on sale for $129. I found that out after I purchaced this one. Go with pioneer.

Similar Products Used:
Sony CDX-4050 (old model), the Pioneer Cd player is way better.

Review 4 of 8

Year / Model Reviewed:
 installed on 92 Civic

Strengths:
All in one, AM/FM, CD, 45W output, easy to install, illuminates nicely at night, and cheap price.

Weaknesses:
have to get used to the new layout, I mean I'm used to 'dial' controls as older Pioneers and Sony had. If you lend your car to someone else they won't understand how to turn the darn radio on or off.

Summary:
I paid $140 new at 'Car Toys' in Beaverton.
Also looked at DEH-2100 but didn't want the extra cost and work of detaching the face.

Installed into the OEM space with no problem and did it in about 50 minutes myself.

Perfect replacement for my Honda Civic as it is easy to install and relatively inexpensive, I highly recommend it.

It has other features I don't even use;
pre-amp output
four speaker connection (I only use the front two)

Similar Products Used:
Sony XR-65 ($360 in 1987) was no comparison as Pioneer is much better.
Pioneer KDH's ($240 in 1992) was no comparison as new Pioneer is much better also.
