Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $450.00 from car shop Italy

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1992, PPI 2075M

Strengths:
Good power, sound great, clean, good bass response and stereo separation. Easy to install, every place in the car is good. If work 4 ohm does not need much ventilation. Very very good component.

Weaknesses:
Nothing.

Summary:
Is almost 11 years that i am using a PPI 2075 amplifier, is the third car. For each new car new hifi system, only the amplifier remain the same because I love it. I wish to speak with somebody who has one of the same serie, 20,30M, 2050M, 2075M, and 2150M to know what kind of system they have in the car and how the PPI is connected.

Review 3 of 5

Price Paid:  $300.00

Strengths:
clean strong power great style can use one amp to power entire system

Weaknesses:
only two set of rca inputs and can be limiting especialy if you are like me and like to run an electronic crossover

Summary:
I love my ppi amp and the amount of clean power that it gives me. I have a kenwood excelon deck w/ polk dx components and curently am shopping for a new sub. This amp is an awesome amp perfect for those that are into sound quality and don't want to go overboard w/ multiple amps. the power is extremely underated and can easily power two jl 10" w6's. On my amp i have the variable crossovers so i don't have the problem as mentioned above. This amp is great but watch out if you plan to change up your system alot b/c once you get theis you have to run subs off it or else you'll waste your money.

Review 4 of 5

Strengths:
Love the chrome finish, the sound is extremely clean, full, and natural. Love the six channels, allows me to power all my speakers and my front sub.

Weaknesses:
The sub channel has only one frequency preset at 90hz and below.

Summary:
Paid 499 from Carmedia1.com. Great Amp, it works for me great, im pushing a pair of eclipse 6x9s and infinity kappa 6.5 seperates as well as a Rockord punch 8inch upfront. Love the sound quality, I also have the QBass, allows control of sub channel. Works absolutley great for my stereo, may not for everyones, so check it out before you buy. But if you could impliment the sub channel or just want one amp I would highly reccommend this amplifier. I have never had any problems with it either.

Review 5 of 5

Summary:
After trying budget amps from MTX, Crunch and not-so-budget ones from Audison and Sounstream, here's the one. This 1999 model differs from the 1998 (PC650) only in finish (it used to be gray, now chrome).
The sound: probably the best car amp I ever auditioned. Tested it at home for the whole week (had to recharge battery three times), and it definitely plays better than my home Marantz setup. Good stereo detail, excellent dynaics. Maybe one further step into pure class A will do better, but in my town that's far more bucks to pay. Aren't they understating output watts like MTX does?

Then why not 5 stars? Bad bad functionality. A six channel amp has only 2 inputs: front and rear channel pairs have highpass XO only. Marked 20-5000 HZ, it's very detailed in subbass, yet for the highs the fixed XO frequencies have strange, wide gaps - 2.8k; 4.5k; 4.8k; 5k. For driving tweeters I'd like to see more definition in 3-5k range (otherwise why go to 5k at all?).

And, worse, the two sub channels only have a 90Hz fixed LP filter, you cannot defeat it and external XO is useless because there's no sub channel input (uses sum of front/rear inputs, or call them mids/tweets?) so far it fits my setup, I'll keep it, but is indeed very limiting.

Installation in a small car may be difficult because of size - over half meter. If I had another 10cm, I'd choose their next model - Pro650, same six amp drivers with adjustable bandpass filters for every channel pair - this one is a five star.
