from Sulplus Store Year / Model Reviewed: 2001/PB-110PX Strengths: Cheap. Enough power for everyday use. Weaknesses: Poor technology!!!!
Not brigeable Summary: I am in Canada and I have a Pyramid PB-110PX amplifier. By looking at the specs it is the same as the PB-101PX in the states.
Please save yourself a lot of grief and do not buy this amp. If you have boughten it don't worry about the $50, through it out.
When I hooked the amp up, I used the RCA's and everything seemed to be alright. Untill I started the car and drove away. There was a lot of engine noise and interference. I thought it was my ground and made another, but the problem stayed. After talking to my teachers in my electronics coarse I decided to try the high level inputs. The noise was deminished but still there. I decided to tolerate it for awhile. Another problem arose when I had everything hooked up. The only way I could get sound was to short out my right side speaker wires and only connect the negative on the left. However, because of the short my deck cut out when I turned the volume up too high. I was screwed either way. I was able to tolerate this untill I picked up a sub and then learned the amp is not even brigeable.
After a while I got smart and picked up a Jensen A300HLX. It only cost me $100 and it works much better. It has more power, built in crossover, bass boost, bridgeable, and is tri-mode capable.
It is a class AB amp with a mosfet power supply. Please spend the extra $50 and save yourself the grief.
