from Friend Year / Model Reviewed: 2002 Strengths: Good looks (love the RF logo with LED behind it)
24 db/octave X-over
Loads of CLEAN power.
Even more Burp power. Weaknesses: Not exactly 1 ohm stable when it's played hard. The amp will shut off after a few minutes of playing it hard at 1 ohm. Summary: The 2002 Rockford Fosgate Power bD1500 is an excellent amp. The package is of decent size considering you're getting 1500+ watts RMS at 2 Ohms. One reason I bought this amp was for competition, and it works very well as a "Burp" amp. I normally run the amp at 2 Ohms on a pair of RF Power Hx2 12" woofers, but for shows, everything goes parallel to give the amp a 1/2 ohm load. I don't suggest you play the amp at this load, but for me in competition, it's awesome for short, 10 to 20 second burps (the amp will shut down from the heat after about 25 seconds). The SQ is decent for a class D amp, better than some amps I've used, if you leave most of the Punch Bass out, you can get pretty accurate, dynamic bass, but when you add Punch Bass, the bass gets a bit boomier.
Over all this has been an excellent amp. I'm considering purchasing another one and running each 12" Power Hx2 off of each amp. Similar Products Used: I've used R Power bD 1000's, MMATS digital amps, Bazooka P500D, and a Kicker KX1200.1
