Review 2 of 7

Price Paid:  $300.00 from JB Hi Fi in Australi

Summary:
I am powering a Cerwin Vega dual voice coil 15" woofer. This amp seems to do a good job. It tends to switch off if the volume is too high. My woofer has really been performing with this amp well. I think that I can do better though in order to achieve full results from the woofer.

Strengths:
0.5 ohm stable

Weaknesses:
Cut outs at high volumes

Review 3 of 7

Price Paid:  $299.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 XM 7527

Summary:
after a year of driving my 1 10" rockford I gotta give it to this amp. I play pritty hard, and yea the sub blew out. Its funny because I mounted my amp on the back of my rear seat (integra) and even if im driving it hard for 2 hours, the amp is bearly warm. honestly my amp has never gotten too hot to touch. I used to have a Old school Rockfordfosgate punch 100 and even that got warm, but this sony has remained the best amp ive had so far! (had alpine v12, hiphonics, nakamichi, aphasonic)

Strengths:
plays hard, stays cool!!

Weaknesses:
okay maybe its cuz im only running one sub

Review 4 of 7

Price Paid:  $100.00 from Boomer''s McCloud''s

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Sony XM-7527

Summary:
I bought this amp on blind faith. First of all, it was used but looks new. Only a few minor scratch''s. The guy at the shop showed me dealer cost because I tried to get the amp for like cheaper then the one hundred he was asking. Dealer cost for them was like 217+. All in all, I got my hundred out of it. I''m pushing 2 Sony 10" Xplod''s in Hi-Current mode at 2 ohm''s.

Strengths:
Pushing my 2 10"s at 300W for the pair and they HIT!!! The design, how all the connections are at one end and can be covered with the silver trim. Looks nice and clean. The price I payed....have heard, last of the good Sony''s to date....the new solid unit''s aren''t as good.

Weaknesses:
Does get a bit warm in 2 ohm mode...but can be easily helped by keeping it a well ventilated area. Going to add a fan for heat exhaust and I''m not planning on trying the 600W x 1 (4 ohm) in Hi-Voltage only....

Jensen 500 Watt 2 Channel (the old blue one''s)

Review 5 of 7

Price Paid:  $367.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2000

Summary:
I have this amp running three audiobahn AW150 15's. It is running at about 1 ohm's and will burn the hell out of you if you touch it!! The place I bought it suggested that I buy a cooling fan for it. I put two radio shack cooling fans blowing across the heat sinkr and now it runns a little cooler. This amp just can't deliver the power I need. I still managed to hit a 144.9db at the local audio shop. This amp just can't cut it!
(I have had three of these amps. I am on the third one right now. The damn things keep blowing!!)

Strengths:
sound quality, 1/2 ohm stability

Weaknesses:
runs hot, not reliable, runs very hot!!

Similar Products Used:
it's a good amp but compared to other high quality amps it's shi!
