Bought this unit as I wanted a silver fronted unit and also a Sony to link in properly with my Sony 6-disc Minidisc changer. The sound is great with plenty of oomph to drive the speakers. The DSO features are handy too. I think the CD has only skipped about once since I installed it and that was going over a speed ramp a bit too fast.

Skipped constantly, cd loadtime rather slow compared to other decks

Summary:
After buying this deck, about 3months after it began to skip with volumes of high bass (2 type r's 12's), i tried cleaning it, didn't help, got a new unit sent in from sony and got it remounted and it still skipped alot, on either bumps or big bass DSO option is nice, improved my sq, very easy to use, nice looks, if it didn't skip i'd be quite happy

Weaknesses:
Sony so reliability may be an issue long term, but so long as you install it yourself no big deal.

Summary:
For the price I paid, an excellent deck. The guy below me on this paid a little too much for this deck, I think, but if you buy it from Ebay or ikesound you should get a good price. Again, amazing value, seems to be a solid deck, but it isn''t up to par with a good clarion or even pioneer deck. It doens''t need to be though, it plays cd''s and plays them well, and the little EQ and soundstage extras are actually pretty cool.
