Review 1 of 146

Price Paid:  $0.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2005 TrailBlazer

Strengths:
Local office genuinely tries to help.

Weaknesses:
Corporate offices do not care about their loyal customers, or about who is responsible for accidents. They do not understand that their customers do not want accidents to happen.

Summary:
I had no problems at all, until claims were filed. This company notified me that my account was going to be cancelled due to an excessive number of claims. I was not at fault during any of the accidents, and I had the police reports to prove it. They didn't care. They will remove me from their insurance at the end of next month. This is an awful experience, and I will remove all my other policies (life and home) from there as well.

Price Paid:  $3500.00 from edmonton dealer

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 ford taurus

Strengths:
None

Weaknesses:
Slipery company. Only after the money in your pocket and dont want anything else to do with you.

Summary:
Was Insured with state farm for $210 a month. Then all of a sudden they started taking $265 a month out of my account without telling me. Went in to the local state farm office and asked them why. nobody could explain why, said it was the head office that did it and they could not explain it but it was still going to be taken out every month. Im going cancelling my policy now with these thiefs.

Review 3 of 146

Price Paid:  $10000.00 from dealer

Year / Model Reviewed:
1994 Nissan

Strengths:
met legal requirements

Weaknesses:
no customer service

Summary:
Someone broadsided me. totaled my car. The agent with whom I had paid premiums for over a decade was totally useless; provided no help, direction. It was like dealing with high schoolers. Had to retain lawyer because they refused to help. Too stupid or too lazy? Doesn't matter. They didn't do their job. Changing carriers as soon as I clean up this mess.

Review 4 of 146

Price Paid:  $24000.00 from Beaverton Hyundai

Year / Model Reviewed:
2007 Mitsubishi

Strengths:
None!

Weaknesses:
They lie and say they'll give you a peace of mind, but they'll just cancel you if you ever have a claim.

Summary:
Do not ever trust State Farm Insurance. They are only there if you are NO risk. I've had them since I was 16 (am now 49). I've had them for my auto, homeowners & life insurance. As long as there's no claim, no problem. 2 years ago, my then 15 year old son took my car without permission to mail something at the post office. He clipped another car & took off. It was minor although it was a big issue for me. It did not cost State Farm much is what I mean. Just now, they are cancelling me for that incident in October of 07. It's September of '09. Out-of-the-blue. I've never had an accident or claim with them in all the years I have had them. Do not trust them. they are not there when you need them. They only use you until you cost them something. I never even got my car fixed because I was worried about my premiums going up.

Review 5 of 146

Price Paid:  $17000.00 from Insured with State F

Year / Model Reviewed:
1991 Nissan NX

Strengths:
Cheap price

Weaknesses:
Cheap coverage with no concern for customer satisfaction.

Summary:
Had full coverage insurance on my car with State Farm since it was driven new off the lot. When the car was about 14 years old, I had a small accident with a chain where my windshield was broken and the hood was dented a little and the radiator was cracked. State farm insisted on totaling the car else I got nothing. I just wanted my windshield replaced. If I let them total the car, I would have to pay about $500 for it to be re-titled as a salvage which I definitely did not want. The cost of replacing my windshield was less than what they would give me if I let them total the vehicle. But they knew how long we had the car and that we wanted to keep it, so they used that against us to save paying a claim. Looks like they would look at how long I paid insurance to them and work something out. They are not that kind of company. They only look for profits. They don't get that satifying customers will give them more profits in the long run.
