Review 1 of 13

Price Paid:  $381.00 from THE TIRE RACK

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Sumitomo HTR Z II

Strengths:
looks nice, but looks are not everything

Weaknesses:
apparently the entire tire

Summary:
My husband bought these tires for me back in November and we had them put on in December. So for a total of 4 months the tire was nice road well, smooth and looked great until today....3/12/09... I was on my way to work and the left rear tire side wall came completely apart from the rest of the tire.I was so pissed that I could have gotten in an accident. My husband said he thought he might have seen a bubble in the wheel the night before but it was dark so he couldn't tell (he probably should have check). My husband asked me if I hit anything, which I didn't. I am going to write a letter to anyone who will listen and try to get my money back.

Review 2 of 13

Price Paid:  $400.00 from Sears, Plattsburgh,

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 Honda Accord

Strengths:
quite tire, handles good

Weaknesses:
bubbles on side

Summary:
I purchased 4 sumitomo tires size 15...for summer use only. They have about 25.000.00 miles at most. Within the last 4 weeks 3 of them have bubbled and flatten during interstate driving. I am an excellent driver. I hit nothing. I will say that sears gave me two new tires...at no cost...tomorrow I bring in the other...but I prefer to have quality and not have flats on interstates. Won't buy again

Review 3 of 13

Price Paid:  $800.00 from Sears Auto Center

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 Jetta GLI

Strengths:
Dry handling, styling, price point

Weaknesses:
Poor wet handling, road noise

Summary:
These are the first set of tires i have purchased for this vehicle. compared to other tires in my 225 40 18 size these were at a desrible price. They have amazing dry condition handling and have a very aggresive look to them, awesome feel and stabibilty at high speeds. Only beef i have with these tires is wet handling, and road noise. Under hard cornering and acceleration in the rain vehicle wants to slip, and going between 15-35 miles an hour vehicle sounds like it has super swampers on it, a little loud, but a very nice tire indeed.

Review 4 of 13

Price Paid:  $434.00 from Sears - Dearborn Mic

Strengths:
Good traction

Weaknesses:
sidewall bubble

Summary:
Brought (4) Sumitomo Tires 225 40ZR18 HTR II on November 22, 2006. Loved them until I noticed a bubble on the sidewall on the 26 of November 2006. I took the car back to Sears. The manager said it was an impact bump. He refused to do anything. No replacement, no nothing. I never hit anything and I saw other reviews in which others has experienced the same thing with this tire and this side bubble. I believe it is a manufacturer defect. I am still investigating. Has anyone else had this problem?
