from Freeman Toyota, Hurs Year / Model Reviewed: 2008 Toyota Tundra CrewMax Ltd TRD 4x4 Strengths: Backup camera option for hitching trailers
Limousine style sliding rear window
Interior storage capacity
Reclining rear seat
TRD has better ride over rough terrain than F150 Supercrew 4x4, eats up potholes etc. Weaknesses: Bouncy ride at highway speeds compared to F150 fully boxed frame. Still working with dealership to see if there is a way to soften dampening rates or something. Very noticeable at 60 to 70mph if you have been driving a Ford for many years.
Poor tire choices, surprised most options are street tires for a truck
No keypad/keyless entry
Navigation/Satellite/Stereo a notch down from Ford
Interior has a bit too much of a plasticy feel
Not quite as good vision behind Summary: After having four F150s over the past 12 years, I bought a 4x4 CrewMax TRD with Limited Trim. Half of it was I wanted something different, other half is I wanted more power than the F150 to tow a large boat. The major differences from the F150s that I see is the Toyota has much better acceleration at all speeds, less road noise, better brakes, more interior storage space (except under back seat), tighter interior construction and other strengths listed below.
