Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid Hybrid Trucks

Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid Hybrid Trucks

DESCRIPTION

The Silverado Hybrid features General Motor’s two-mode hybrid system that combines a 6.0-liter V8 Gen IV gasoline engine with Active Fuel Management and late intake valve closing technology with GM’s advanced Electrically Variable Transmission (EVT) and a 300-volt nickel-metal hydride Energy Storage System to achieve 40-percent greater city fuel economy and a 25-percent improvement in overall fuel economy.

The new hybrid system allows the Silverado Hybrid to drive at up to 30 mph on electricity alone and also allows the engine to operate in its more economical V4 mode for longer periods.

Strength:

Most of the electrical vehicles are smaller, it is actually pretty rare to see trucks that are electric powered. So this one is a plus. Regards from general electrical service team.

Weakness:

If ever you will be writing for weakness, it is for the truck itself not the hybrid features.

Chevy for Life
Model Reviewed: Silverado Hybrid HY2 Crew Cab 4WD

Strength:

Only 12K mikes on it so far, but in the city not hard to keep the mileage in the high 20s or low 30s. Highway averages 22+. I was used to 10 -13 in the city and 17-18 on the highway on my 2007 Tahoe. Mileage right now is making up the extra $ for the payment.

Weakness:

Chevy could take some tips from Ford and Nissan. Need lights and a builtin step for the bed. Web site also noted the feature (standard) of the backup camera. When we ordered the truck, the camera was not available.

If you are not averaging over the 20/20 noted on the window sticker, you are not paying attention to your driving. This is a great truck with lots of promise. I watched the reviews on the Hybrid Tahoes for over a year before deciding on this truck. Only 12K mikes on it so far, but already seeing great things and expect to see even better things.
