Strength:
Solid body, so it;s safe. I got it used from a single owner with 93 K mils on it. IT handkes really really well. Solid feeling on the road at speeds upto 125mph (or so i've heard ;^) ) has the requisitie leather, sunroof, stick, nice stereo, ABS, dual climate control, and onboard computer that tells me good stuff like a taillight needs to be changed (BMW dealer did it free for me)or if oil or coolant ever become low...overall a really nice fast, well handling car with verylittle maintenance.
Weakness:
WEll...none i can think of. The ergonomics are not quite as good as Honda, but hey, they are pretty close. The seats are the best, as is the driving position and the transmission. The main problem i have (and it;s small i assure you) is that there is this dsmall gap between the front seeats and the console, and i keep getting coins in there, and it's hard to get them out. Other than that, no flaws. well, suffice it to say i paid less than i would for a small new hyundai. And i love the car. I recommend it highly, as long as you know cars and are not the type top go to the first mechanic you see and get ripped off. If that;s the case, stay away from used german cars anyway....just buy a hyundai..:-) Similar Products Used: I test drove a few mercedes but they sucked. |

528
Strength:
-this car handles like a dream (or more like a BMW)
Weakness:
-not powerful enough for the money I opted not to buy the 528 and instead chose the 9-5 SE. The Saab was faster, roomier and more comfortable. PLUS, it was cheaper! It may not handle as well as the BMW but then again, it's not supposed to be very sporty--it's a luxury-oriented car. Regardless, I would still prefer that my car handle like the 528 but oh well. Bottomline: on paper anyway, the 528 does not compare with the 9-5 SE on any grounds but especially not value. However, car buying is way more subjective than that and, admittedly, it was a very tough decision. Similar Products Used: Saab 9-5 SE, Audi A6 |

- engine is very quiet
Weakness:
- Styling is getting a little old I payed 54K for mine. The only thing I have to say is, "if you want luxury and sport, this is the car" Similar Products Used: Infiniti Q45, it doesn't even come close to the 528. |

M5 Super Sedan
Strength:
Its as roomy as a 7 seven series, but its faster than an M3 or M roadster. I can take the family anwhere and still scare the bajesus out of them at the same time. Speed equaling a Ferrari F355
Weakness:
Doesn't come with one of the liscence plate holders that says " I'm a BADAZZ." After a new super highflow tuned exhaust, new computer chip(only to take off 155mph limit), 19" wheels, custom BMW titanium-paint job and tint, an even faster(tough to beat) shifter, and some new rubber, I no longer need the BADAZZ liscence plate holder. Similar Products Used: There is really one one other car comparable my eye and that is the v-8 powered 540i with the six speed. |

Strength:
Very fun, sporty drive. 6 speeds, decent gas mileage. Nice interior, roomy
Weakness:
Stereo system, bucket seats. no middle compartment, small glove box The BMW is a great car to drive. Its fun and sporty. Great handling and turning radius. Gas mileage isn't bad if you are in the right gear at the right time. The interior is very nice and roomy. There is lots of room in both the front and back seat. But don't get the bucket seats. There is a seam going down the middle, it agitates my back. Also, the stereo system is not good. It has adjustible reverb, but it has no base, and sounds muffled. The one in my Jeep is a lot better. There is also no middle compartment between the front seats, and a very small glove box. But it's not that bad. Similar Products Used: Infinity Q45 (boring car) |

Weakness:
Could have more rear interior space. The best sports luxury sedan car in the world. Beats Mercedes E-class (I also own one at present, and the old model before that) hands-down Similar Products Used: Mercedes E320 |

535i 5speed
Strength:
Awesome Engine, Classic stlying, The fun of a 5 speed in a 4 door semi-sports sedan. The car is old enough that it isn't completely electronic so a normal human can fix it, but it has all the necessary features for today, power everything, heated seats, full function trip computer, great abs brakes, cd changer. My car has 157,000 miles, and still runs perfect, smooth, and always starts right up. This is historically bmw's best engine ever built.
Weakness:
Well, the interior door trims seem to fall out with age, the way the water drains in the doors,it gets held in the bottom of the door trim and can cause problems. The cooling/heating system isn't the best, but it's not automatic, so there is less room for it to break, simple knobs and switches. I would recomend this as a great used car for someone. Its sporty and the stlye from is current up till 1996,so a pristine '89 model can be mistaken for even a new or almost new car. The handling on these cars is great, and the power on the 535 is plenty. Watch out for the 530i and 540i, they are also good cars, but the V8's from '93-'95 can go bad do to the sulfur content in the US gasoline reacting to the cylinder walls of the engine. bmw recognizes this and offers a free replacement for up to 6 years and 100,000 miles, but not all cars have had the new engines. I would recommend the 535 and 525 for sure, and don't be afraid of high mileage, especially on the 535, you can get a great car with high mileage for cheap, just remember, the car cost 45,000+ new, so you have to pay to maintain an expensive car. Similar Products Used: Mercedes 300E, various models. THe mercedes feels much heavier on the road, and build quality is probably a bit better. It doesn't have the sporty feel of the bmw, but the '93 and up with the 24 valve I6 is definetly faster than than the 535i and will blow away a 525i. |

Weakness:
As usual you have electrical problems with BMW. I had the same with my M3, but it is nothing compared to the fun you are going to have. Recommend to install short shift for better shifting. Bought a year old car with BMW-Used-Certified with warranty till 100,000 mi. Payed $48,000 Similar Products Used: My mother has a LEXUS GS 400 - great car, minus (auto, and suspension is to soft even with the sports package) |
