Infiniti G35 Luxury

Infiniti G35 Luxury

DESCRIPTION

The Infiniti G35 is an entry-level luxury car / mid-size car and coupe produced by Nissan's luxury brand Infiniti. The G35 is based on the Nissan FM platform shared with the Nissan 350Z coupe and roadster sports car and Infiniti FX crossover SUV. The FM platform stands for "front midship" design where the engine is moved back towards the rear of the engine bay which in turn improves the weight distribution.

Sporting the VQ35DE engine, the Infiniti G35 uses a front-midship engine, rear-wheel drive layout to achieve a 52% front/48% rear weight distribution. Both body styles are available with either a 5-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission, although the automatic is the only transmission available for the AWD sedan.

This is a driver's car with a passion for the road. If you desire a 350Z but need an excuse for taking more than one other person. This is the one you have been waiting for. Nice short throw shifter, excellent road manners. I had the premium package with the Bose and Moonroof... only way to go! I looked at the TL / BMW330 but for the best value the G has it all. I am a good size man 6'2 225 at it is the best fit I have had the pleasure to drive. Smooth power delivery and I drive every chance I get. So what if it gets only 22 MPH. You come into this world with nothing and leave with nothing you might as well get something super cool! I got the Ivory Pearl sweet. Nothing to complain about. Love everything about it!....wait no surf racks! and can't hold my Taylor guitar in the trunk...

You feel the road...it's not a luxury sedan

I had my previous car for 10 years, so I took my time before investing in my next one. After investigating several makes/models, I narrowed my search to Audi, BMW, and the Infiniti G35. While all three score high points for styling, the G35 quickly left the others in the dust...literally. Don't let the luxurious styling fool you, the G35 is unequivocally a sports car. If you're looking for a smooth ride for gramma and grandpa, look somewhere else (Lexus?). If you desire exhiliration when you get behind the wheel, save some time and go to your Infiniti dealer. You won't get fired for buying from IBM, and you won't be disappointed if you buy a BMW...but that's boring. If you want an incredible car and not worry about parking next to ten just like it, buy the G35. I've had mine for over three months and I still can't walk away from the car without looking back at it...reminds me of when I found my wife. Cheesey but true. BTW, she's still runnng strong after 10 years with me, so it's a good sign for my Infiniti.

Just replaced a 2003 Saab 9-3 SS(Saab repurchased under lemon law). The G has leather, auto. premium, sport, and aero. Dealer was great. Although I thought the Saab was a great handling car, for fwd, it doesn't hold a candle to the G35. The quality & performance just blows away the Saab and they both had the same MSRP of approximately $34,500. Phenomenal car and dealer follow-up.

I just took delivery of my 2004 Infiniti G35 on December 26th.... the car is awesome! Handles fantastic and is very fast... I had a 2001 VW Passat GLX V-6 which was a great car but couldn't hold a candle to the G in handling and acceleration. It's been so long since I've driven a rear-wheel drive car that I forgot what a difference it makes in cornering and accelerating out of a corner. My G Leather Auto has the aero package, sport suspension package, Premium package w/full-size spare & matching wheel and splashguards. Sticker was $35000 even but I got a great deal at $32500... the dealer was great with no hassles. I handled the transaction via E-Mail and loved it... no question on what was said or quoted since it was all documented in writing. Manumatic works well but it's better left in drive. Car rides firmly but not harshly and smooths out abrupt bumps/expansion joints well. Brakes are excellent and the car stops on a dime. Very solidly built with alot of nice features and very little wind noise. Many magazine reviews state that the seat controls are in an awkward spot but it's no problem for me... I actually like it better, especially if you need to adjust the passenger seat since you don't have to lean over & reach to the side of the seat for the controls. Seats are very comfortable and the sound system is great.. I really like the Radio Data System which tells you the name of the station, artist & song title... wish the steering wheel controls were lit at night but I'm used to the buttons now. At night, there is some glare from the dash on the windshield but it's nothing major. Wheels look great and are easy to clean (since there is quite a bit of brake dust but no more than my VW). Rear reclining seats are a cool feature and there's plenty of room in the back. I wondered why Infiniti chose to have a hood prop rather than a gas-assisted strut.. but the dealer mentioned to me that because the hood is made of aluminum, it can dent easily. With gas-struts, people tend to bring the hood down to the latch and then push on it to fully close it whereas with the prop one tends to drop it closed (the correct way). Gas mileage has been a little lower than I had expected, however, it could be due to my driving since it's so fun to drive fast... I'm sure things will improve once I calm down and the car breaks in but I have been averaging around 22 mpg combined driving... still not too bad. I love the styling and it looks more expensive than it really is... gets alot of looks. I got the Desert Platinum w/ willow interior which is a great combo... color doesn't show the dirt much at all. Interior carpet is very light so I bought some cheap mats for the winter so I don't ruin the factory ones. Overall, I am super pleased with the entire vehicle, from the dealer right through to the driving experience. If anyone wants to E-Mail me, go right ahead but don't be upset if I don't respond right away... I'll most likely be out driving my G.

Some people say that "sporty suspension" reduce comfort of the ride. It is still much softer than on Impreza WRX STI

On a snowy and cornery road I had passed Audi A6 quattro. G 35 goes into corners like a hell. My wife has a Subaru and on slippery road when I drive that car I feel like front wheels have tendency to slide out off the corner. My new G35 gets into the corner perfectly and VDC keeps the rear wheels in controled slide. Just fun to ride if you have "heavy foot!!!

Rough ride

I have been searching for a car for the past 2 months. Test drive many cars and was Considering G35 until I test drive it. If you love rough ride, this car is for you. I thought interior is beautiful, accelerates very well. But when it shift gears, the whole car shakes. It is no where near a luxury car smooth acceleration like a lexus or BMW offers. If you can accept that, everything else is not bad

MILEAGE! Backseat

Nice combo of luxury and sportiness. Neither a top notch racer, nor premier luxury car, but accels in both fields. I bought the 6-speed coupe with 18" wheels and Brembo brakes. It accelerates very smoothly, and is a smooth joy to drive on the highway. Hearing the engine, and feeling the slightest touch of torque put you back in the high-lumbar support seats makes keeping your foot out of the throttle extremely difficult. I literally have to use the cruise control to keep the car down to reasonable speeds in the mountains, it likes to fly, and it's a completely comfortable ride while carving. Braking performance can almost bring your lunch back up, I've never seen another car brake like this. Interior is subdued and comfortable. Radio controls could use some refinement, I had to spend some time getting used to them, especially since there are no knobs. It's all buttons, and they're piled in the console with the clime control. Sometimes I press the wrong "Off" button. Mileage is terrible. The best mileage I've ever seen is 22MPG, when it was a long haul highway trip, with the cruise control taking the throttle. In 5,000 miles, we're averaging under 19 MPG overall. Don't let the 24/27 MPG dealer sticker fool you. Upon searching the Web, I guess this is unfortunately common. Backseat is for kids only. Every single adult who's ever sat back there has left greasy hair prints on the back glass. No head room if you're 5'10" or taller. Trunk is the smallest I've ever seen. Grovery bags don't stand up in there. However, I love this car. It's been awesome, and is extremely fun to drive. I have an honest to goodness difficult time driving it nicely. I *SO* want to race every corner and stop light.

THE SEATS ARE TERRIBLE!!

The car is beautiful! Great road feel. Awesome power. Great brakes and steering feel. The stereo rocks! The BIGGEST issue I have with this car is, no matter how I adjust the driver’s seat it is NOT at all comfortable. I’m issuing a warning to anyone that is over 6 feet tall and/or 250+ pounds, this car is NOT comfortable. Make sure you drive this car for 60 – 70 miles before deciding to purchase!! This car is for sale immediately!

I looked at every car in this segment: 330i, IS300, TL, C320, Audi A4, and even the CTS and LS. I settled on the G35 because it provided the best of all worlds. It has the interior space to be comfortable, but is very tossible in the twistys. The engine is very powerful. Also I know the engine family that the VQ comes from is very solid. I also own a 2000 Maxima. I wanted a car that had was fun to drive, could fit my friends and family, and is safe and reliable. I also wanted to make sure that the customer service that I got was good. The G35 met these requirements. I got the 6 speed since it comes standard with the sport package, and the winter package. I added the Pr package, the wheel locks, the trunk mat, and the splash guards. The only options I didn't get were the aero and the nav. I have a nav system already and I didn't need another one. I'm not a big fan of spoilers either so I didn't want the aero package. I got the 6 speed since I think that the auto box shifts too slowly. Also, I don't to do multiple things while I drive and a manual will force you into paying more attention to the act of driving. I've had the G for a little over 3 weeks now and I've racked up about 2000 miles. The only issues that I have had with the car is that the driver's side memory seat doesn't always seem to work, and that the CD changer is loud when switching CDs. The former could be user error but I don't think so. It doesn't happen all the time so I'm not sure that anything can be done about it. The latter is just me being picky. I would prefer knobs replacing the up/down toggle buttons for the temp and the volume. I'm not sure why Infiniti would go with the toggle switches here since I know that they have done the knobs in the past. I haven't had any issues with the brakes being touchy. They seem fine to me. I also like the fact that Infiniti benchmarked the 3 series in so many different areas that they even got down the little things like how in fifth gear the speedo and the tach match. It’s not functional for that to happen, but it’s something that’s pretty cool. The dealer that I got my car at was horrible. I had conducted the entire transaction over the phone. But when I got there to pick up the car they switched tried to switch the pricing on me. They then tried to convince me that it made more sense to spend an extra $936 on the same car even though they had made the mistake. They had me waiting around for 3 hours to fix their mistake. They did eventually agree to the contract that they had promised. But even then they tried to make it seem like they were doing me a favor. Ridiculous. The only redeeming factors were that I got a car fresh off the boat (I had ordered it weeks earlier) and that the price was excellent. I would still recommend Ray Catena though because of the follow-up service that I have gotten. Just not the salesperson that I got. If you’d like to find the name of the sales person that I got, please feel free to ask. Recommendations that I would have for the G would be: - Knobs for volume - Make the key part of the hey fob, like Audi - The radio display gets washed out under direct sunlight - The fog lamps should be bumper mounted - The CD changer should have more sound deadening material - The First Aid kit should have something for a headache - Nissan can’t make windshield wipers that work well. I don’t understand why not, but they just can’t. - The shifter feels like there is a subway turnstile in it. It’s not bad, just kind odd. That’s about it. Otherwise the car has been excellent.

Initially we looked at every single model in a specific price range (40K-50K) and for several reasons, we narrowed our search to three models: · Infiniti G35 · Acura TL-S · Lexus ES330. We must admit before test-driving we were almost sure that we would be buying Lexus, but having compared all the options we changed our mind and strongly feel now that for someone in his/her mid30’s Infiniti G35 is the best money can buy. This car has everything you expect from a sport sedan: performance, comfort and look. We got the 2004 luxury Charcoal on black model and we also added a spoiler to it. (We hated a silver dash-board on a sport-model and were tempted to replace it with ‘a wood’ package, but a luxury model looks Much better than the sport one, so decided not to bother).
