Pure luxury!! This is the most luxurious car I have ever driven. The seats are very nice and soft. I would rather sleep in this car than in my own bed!! I'd rather sleep in the Lincoln than my bed. Inside is very roomy, front and back. I have no problem getting in and no problem getting out. You could fit five adults in this car. The A/C is ice cold (when it's working, and right now it's not) witch I love because I use it all the time. This car has lots of features. It has a nice 4 speaker system, speed control, cruise control, system check, digital speedometer, automatic lights on lights off, automatic highbeems on highbeems off, and automatic climate control. It also has dual front airbags and driver, passenger 6 way power leather seats. In the back it has a small compartment to put little things in. Inside it is very very very very roomy and comfertable. You can fit 5 adult and one child in it. The radio and climate control features are simple to use and thats what I like. I had this car for 3 years but it is 7 years old and the paint is still excellent. Except now it has two scratches on because someone keyed it on the right side(it was probably because it was such a nice car and they couldn't afford so they keyed it). The car wieghes 2 tons and it looks it too. The ride is very soft and so so smooth. For its wieght, the car handle good and the steering is so soft that I could turn this 2 ton car with only my pinky. This car looks very expence, witch it is and is very nice.
Weakness:
Dependibility!!!! Only a little dependibility on this car. The back airshocks blew out and cost $1,200 to fix at the dealer, and now the front shocks blew and I have to get them fixed, witch will probably cost another $1,200 to fix. The motor for the back window are broke and I need a new motor for the front window too(the window rolls down very slow), it is leaking something, something is wrong with the transmition. There have been a lot of mechanical problems. The A/C is not working write now because I need a new A/C kompressor. All this that I have to fix will probably cost me atleast another $1,ooo. In the short time that I have owned this car put $ 3 or $4,000 in just fixing things. Another thing is that it is underpowered. It has a big 3.8 V6 but it only has 160 Hp. It is a very slugish car, but then agian it is a luxury car and not a sports sedan. When it comes to cleaning the rims it is hard because of all the spokes it has. They are nice 15 inch rims but are very time consuming when it comes to cleaning them. Once I get all things fixed even though I put all that money in to it I am still going to keep it. I love the car!!! Well it's hard to say if I would recommend this car to anybody. All the problems that I have listed are not going to go wrong with every Lincoln Continental. Well except for the air struts, those will blow out atleast one time. If you are a kind of person who loves luxury and likes a lot of features and doesn't mind buying a car and fixing all the problems that go wrong with it, then yes I would recommend this car to you. If your the kind of person who wants a nice luxurious car that has very minamal problems and doesn't want to take it to the shop often, then no I wouldn't recommend this car to you. The Continental is a great car...a much better value when compared to the more expensive Lexus or BMW...Ride on the highway is unsurpassed..Lots of engine power and above average habnding ability for a larger car...Very Very very comfortable...This car takes care of you from a comfort and safety standpoint...May be one of the most under-rated vehicles made..
Weakness:
Ride can be a bit harsh on real bumpy roads--front struts could be better....Takes 91 octane--although great gas mileage...Believe it or not mine didn't come with a CD player. Try this car....Some dealerships offer large discounts and great financing making it easier to own this remarkable luxury car....My guess is I'll own another one in another 250k to300k miles.. Power! My previous car was a 1994 BMW 528i, it was wonderful, but it did not offer the equipment, power, ride or comfort this car does. It has tons of room and luggage space. A must with 2 kids on trips. If more people would drive this car, more would buy it. The dealer has been wonderful, Sam Johnson LM. The driver select system is a fantastic thing. My wife has her settings and I have mine. Quality is excellent, no problems at all at 26,000 miles.
Weakness:
Better stero. I have the Alpine premium system w/cd, but it doesnt keep up. Road noise is little diatractiong from such a quiet car. Structural regidity could be better, the suspension is wonderful for such a large car. If some of the flexing could be illiminated, the car would be better for it. I leased. Priced I leased at was around $34,000. I would recommend it to anyone considering a new 528i, GS300, Seville, DeVille or the like. The car really supprised me. I went to look at an LS, but it was too small for my family. It offers the room, luxury, comfort and power I wanted at a very reasonable price. Similar Products Used: BMW 325ix,BMW 528i,Lexus GS300... It is a better car than all. I do not buy used cars, so all were new. The quality is better than both of my BMWs |

Outstanding performance coupled with excellent gas mileage [for it's class], this luxury vehicle has the best of both worlds. A true sports car-luxury car. We've always had a sports car in the family, but with the arrival of a new [unexpected] baby this past Christmas, we had to look seriously at a more family-oriented vehicle. Requirements: Comfortably equiped 4 door, good storage capacity, performance and styling. When I drove the 98 Continental I was sold! It had the power of a performance car while packaged with all the amenities and storage capacity required of a family vehicle. The ride and handling characteristics were superb, leaving me with a feeling of not wanting to exit the vehicle once I arrive at my destination.
Weakness:
A little more sound insulation. At $19500, the best luxury used-car value out there...period. Would recommend it to that baby-boomer who "needs" a sports car in their life but has a family, you won't be disappointed! Similar Products Used: First "Luxury" car we've owned. |

I love the power that the Lincoln motor has. Great response and good handling.
Weakness:
A bit more sound proofing wouldn't hurt. I would reccomend anybody to buy this car. It has been one of the nicest cars I've driven. The price was well worth it. You get EXCELLENT service at Lincoln dealers and its not as if you didn't pay for it!! Similar Products Used: BMW 3 Series Sedan |

I love this car a lot. It is very comfortable inside and it has a great 302 V8 that hauls. I love it all the way around.
Weakness:
Air suspension is just another thing to break. I paid 2000 for it and I think anybody who is considering this car should buy it. Similar Products Used: Lincoln LS, Chevrolet Corvete. |

Strength:
The outside of the car is gorgous. The Continental is just perfect in size when compared to the Town car. The leather seats are great. Should come with standard sunroof.
Weakness:
Worst car I ever drove when it comes to dependability. I figured a Lincoln would be better built. The head gaskets go out at 60k miles. Soon after the air ride system goes out. These two things if you were to go to a Ford dealer for repairs it will cost you big. Continental should focus on the performance of thier vehicles a little bit more. Yes, if Ford will take care of all the problems. Similar Products Used: Town Car with 3.8 6cyl. |

JBL sound package, absolutely the best sound system I've ever heard. The best ride I've ever experienced. Interior is great.
Weakness:
Worst mechanical product I've ever driven. Every system goes bad. Engine, Trans., A/C, Stereo, Airbags...... Bought for 10000 in 1997 with 35000 miles on it. Fell apart soon thereafter. By 60000 miles I had replaced or repaired every item listed on weaknesses and more. (Except the airbag, I traded it with that $700 problem) Similar Products Used: Mercury Grand Marquis |

pure luxury, electric powered and very comfortable leather seats, elec. moonroof, name it and it´s built in!
Weakness:
After 10 years of using it, everything breaks down, one after the other. And the prices to get it fixed are Lincoln Style - hilarious expencive!!! The price for the car when new was about $28,000 in 1988. I paid $ 2,200 in 1997 and had to put about $3,000 into it to get the most important things fixed. The prices for parts are from another planet. Similar Products Used: Mercedes Benz C 250. I would call it "another world"! Perfect crafted car, but not as luxurious as the Lincoln. |
