Nice leather interior. No trouble with the sunroof so far.
Weakness:
Keeping with what seems to be the theme of this web site... - the brakes are horrible. Mine have been replaced many times and still make a terrible noise when braking. - I am presently in a fight with GM concerning my A/C. It turns on and off whenever it pleases. It is between 90 and 100 degrees in Atlanta during the summer - this is unacceptable. They have told me that the whole control panel has to be replaced. If anyone has had this same problem with their A/C, please feel free to email me and let me know how it was fixed before I spend my money to replace the control panel. - there are several rattles that can't be pinpointed so they say...so I turn up the radio to cover the noise. - my horn doesn't work 95% of the time...every once in a while it works and ends up scaring me to death because I don't expect it. Considering the old model Malibu was the best car my parents ever had, my newer Malibu is quickly becoming the worst car I have ever had. I will definitely go back to Honda when and if I can get rid of this one. Similar Products Used: Chevy Beretta |

I can reach everything in the car without having to leen.
Weakness:
Breaks, electrical, and the dealership. For the two years I have had this car I have had nothing but problems with it. Including the warranty. I had to get the Chevy and the BBB involved to get the alarm that came on the car fixed by the dealership. Breaks have been a continuous problem also. There is an electrical short in the car somwere but the dealership can never find it. I have been pulled over for no break lights twice and the dealership keeps replacing the horn. I have been a Chevy lover all my life but this car has made me seriously consider a foreign car. Similar Products Used: Nissan Centra. Loved it, may buy a new one. |

It's a very nice looking car, it's not too big either.
Weakness:
BRAKES!!! With all the complaints Malibu owners have made about their car's brakes, why hasn't GM done anything? After buying this car, I had it in the shop within 2 weeks. I have had major problems with the brakes. At 34,000 miles, my brakes started grinding and "snapped" at a stop light, coasting me in the middle of the intersection. I have had this car for 8 months and had the brakes and rotars replaced twice. In fact, they were replaced only two months ago and are grinding again. I had the brakes looked at 3 times while it was under warranty, no one could find the problem. |

I like the leather seats...it a great ride when the rotors arent warped. Its a shame that GM had to test their poor engine and brake design on their formerly loyal consumers
Weakness:
brakes, engine gaskets to name a few rotors replaced twice, abs replaced, a/c replaced, engine sensor wires frayed, antenna cable detached....all under warranty...at 58k leaking intake manifold gasket replaced at my cost...$520.00 I urge all others with a leaking manifold gasket to visit the following site and sign the petition www.PetitionOnline.com/GMcnsmrs Lets serve GM notice that this is a wide spread problem with an official record of complaint Similar Products Used: plymouth fury, chevy tracker, now the owner of a Kia Sedona....would have got a chevy Venture but the one i test drove had a low coolant light come on. |

Price for features, Great motor, sound system, etc.
Weakness:
Probably the brakes and rotars but isn''t there drawbacks to just about everything. At least I know what to expect. So far we absolutely love the car. We have had some minor problems that have been fixed. They were: a water leak at the driver''s side door, faulty blinker, at 11,000 miles the brakes and rotars were replaced. I am very pleased with the car and with the dealership and promptness of service when needed. I have been driving Chevrolets since 1989 and plan to continue for a long time. Our Malibu is perfect for our family of 4. Love the spaceous trunk and the sound system. I can''t say enough good about it. fix the brake problem and maybe be a decent car but need dealer to take car of problems not skirt the issue at 22000 am on third set of brake pads this is lousy-never had to replace brakes until 60-70000 miles on all other cars owned. Dealers is no help and brakes still bad making noise. Similar Products Used: my acclaim has 150,000 miles and only on the 3rd set of brakes not bad eh? |

Looks nice on the outside and inside, too except where the top of the seat meets the bottom. There is some wierd, thick fabric there that looks really bad.
Weakness:
Brakes. Brakes. Brakes. and the dealerships that service these cars!!!!!! This car looks great, but drives like crap! I had to bring it in to the dealership the same week I got it for brake repairs. It needed a master cylinder. The brakes are awful! And, the engine hesitates when you try to start it. I have been to the dealership at least 9 times. The gaskets around the windows fell in the door. There are many rattling noises too. I had a very MINOR wreck. My car has been at the dealership for over 5 weeks now. So, DON''t GO TO BRIAN HARRIS CHEVROLET IN D.S., LA. Engine has some to give
Weakness:
Transmission does not marry well with engine. Workmanship is of American Cars. Guzzles too much for the size. Overall, I am satisfied with this vehicle. the pickup is good after 3400 rpm. If you want to pass quickly, you need to floor the gas pedal, as it is slow to downshift... or you can manually downshift. it needs a different transmission. I don''t have the aluminum wheels, which I think results in low confidence when cornering. It is currently at the dealer, because the door open with a load noise (broken spring?). The brakes could still be a problem. On wet surface, the ABS behaves very strangley, especially on bumpy roads. the stereo is good. I also have been hearing a noise in the back wheels, not sure what it is. Sounds like bearings, but the car only has 20,000 miles. Overall, it is not bad at all. |
