Strength:
Roomy. Good handle.
Weakness:
Brakes - pads need to be replaced by a higher quality product. This is the first American car in my life -Cirrus, so I should say "no bad, Yankee”. Just a little rough things – you can notice them if you owned before some Japanese cars. Similar Products Used: Toyota Carina E(Europe - model)- same size but inside sucks, Nissan Primera - cheap. |

Strength:
The car is a sleek looking mid-size car. It makes a good daily commuter vehicle. Good size for a small family.
Weakness:
Brakes, warped rotors, stereo, electric mirrors, electric windows, transmission and the terrible service at "Dodge of Bremerton" In the 13 1/2 months of owning the car, it has been in for service 7 times. First it was the shuddering of the electric windows when rolling them up. The Service Dealer tried twice to remedy the problem by greasing the window tracks. The third time in, after a heated arguement, they agrred to replace all the window felt in the doors. Problem fixed. Soon after, the electric mirror stopped working and had to be replaced. Then the passenger door speaker would cut in and out. The Service Dealer said that the speaker would be replaced. Once again the car went back in for the same spaker. The excuse was that the FM went from stereo to mono and it would case the speaker to cut out( only 1 of 6?). After talking to a car stereo installation shop, I took it back to the dealer to fix the stereo and shove his BS excuse. Similar Products Used: 1989 Mazda 626... I trade it back in a heartbeat |

Weakness:
Too many repairs. I don't own this car, but my mother-in-law does. I just convinced her to trade in this piece of junk for a Honda. She is constantly repairing something on this car. Last month it was the distributor. The brakes have been repaired twice and are still havings problems. The A/C no longer works. The engine lights is always going on. Now something is wrong with the steering column. The trans has already been replaced - on a car with less than 40,000 miles on it! She has been in the shop several times a year since she bought this car new in 1995. This car is a real lemon. Unless you like visiting your local repair shop one a regular basis, get rid of your Cirrus. Similar Products Used: None |

Fuel injector, wires and plugs (car is less than 2 years old), shimmies I loved my car the first 15 months of having it. It is beautiful and could roll with the best of them. However, troubles has surfaced. First, the engine light stayed on. Dealer changed fuel injector (said it was bad). I told my husband then that once they work on your car, it'll never be the same. Bingo! Guess what? Car is in the shop again. This time the car shimmied badly as if in need of a tune-up. They said the wires had been changed (spark plug wires) because the ones in the car were not Mopar. Do you believe this? First of all, I have never taken my car anywhere for service except the same dealer. Second of all, the car boasts of no tune-up for 100,000 miles. My car has 10,000. So, I'm awaiting their response now. The car was running smooth until they worked on it for the engine light. Now I'm afraid it'll will never be the same. It runs like it's 10 years old. I purchased the car because I believed in Chrysler. (I still own the Plymouth Sundance which was trouble free) Now I'm having second thoughts about Chrysler. Similar Products Used: Honda. Cirrus is a smoother ride, however, Honda Accord is more reliable. |

Strength:
Syling, ergonomics, suspension design, interior / trunk room.
Weakness:
Road noise, slightly coarse driveline 83,000 Miles. only problems so far was the transmission @ 79k and that wasn't really Chrysler's fault, as I had the fluid changed by a place that reused the gasket and used gasket sealer, a no-no with this transmission. Chrysler picked up the tab to replace anyhow, and it took only 1 day (Livonia C-P, Michigan). Tie-Rod ends were replaced under warranty at same time, but I never noticed a problem. No brake problems for me, the originals lasted 55k and I replaced them with top-of-the-line Wagners and they're going strong. I have the 15" wheels and "performance" (bigger rotors) brakes, so maybe that's the diff. All in all, it's been a good, roomy, fun-to-drive car with a great 200w stereo and nice ride. Transmission is faulty I give this car a one star. After 8 months (purchased brand new) the tranny had to be replaced because of slipping and not knowing what gear to be in when slowing down. The power steering had to be replaced also. Two months later the tranny had to be replaced again because the deferencial rod went through the casing, and guess what...once again the tranny needs to be replaced because of the slipping of gears when slowing down. Oh, and the door was a completely different color of Taupe than the rest of the car. I am the only driver of this car and am very particular when it comes to the care of this vehicle. So far, this is going to be the 4th tranny this car has seen since the assembly line. Is it a lemon? Or are the transmissions crap in these cars. I heard of this problem with the 2000's, but figured it wouldn't happen to me. Guess I was wrong. Similar Products Used: None |

Had problems with Chrysler dealerships as well as above. Disgusted, Tranaxile failed and had to be completely replaced, distributor cap assembly malfunctioned and had to be replaced, brakes and wheel bearings had to be replaced several times and last but not least the transmission line failed resulting in an exorbitant cost due to towing and repairs in a less than a 4 year old car with less than 150,000 highway miles. In every case, Chrysler would not assume any financial responsibility. Similar Products Used: LTD Ford and Mercury Topaz had excellent experience. |
