None I have a 1996 blueish purple neon and about a year ago the paint started peeling off. Now I have huge areas with the primer showing. every neon that color I see has the same problem. Probably 99 out of 100 of them. It is obvious with out a doubt this is a factory defect. Everyone needs to contact dodge and tell them that you are going to tell everyone you know what a horible company Dodge is for putting a defective product out on the market and not correcting it. Low price, great gas mileage.
Weakness:
Fuel tank makes noise, valve cover gasket has had to be replaced along with alternator, and headlight switch. The car was dying on me on the interstate and the sensors had to be replaced! Although we''re considering buying a Caravan, we would never buy a Neon again and are sceptical of Dodge products. Besides having the headgasket replaced, which was paid for by Chrysler, the first 2 1/2 years were o.k. Gets great gas mileage and o.k. car for the money. Its got good room for how little the car looks. Bigger then the older Neons. Ive only had the car for less then a month so I really cant make any bad comments about it right now but if I have anything bad happen I will redo this. :>)
Weakness:
Well where do I start. Ok NO POWER WINDOWS OR LOCKS for a 2001 it should have them. I have 3 kids and I wish I had the power windows and locks would be much eaiser. And also no CD player come on now its a 2001. Now these are only little things I hope nothing bad goes wrong. Wish me luck. ; } So far its been a good little car. I love it I traded down my minivan for this car so I hope nothing really bad goes wrong. Ive only had it less then a month but I have heard nothing but good things about the Dodge Neons. Similar Products Used: Well we also have a Dodge Stratus and we have had that for over a year and we have had no problems with that so hopefully we have no problems with this Dodge either. Great Gas milage, low price, good looks, good sterio, good rear leg room especially for size of car, great acceleration, easy to park. does not use oil, 100% reliable.
Weakness:
None stand out, could probably use a overdrive, but I do not miss it. This has been my most trouble free car, and I have had some real problem cars. This vehicle has not been in the shop since I bought it. I have done all the general servicing my self. It now has 30,000 miles on it. Tires are origional, rotated every 3,000 miles. Runs like new, Similar Products Used: Chevy Cavilier, had rough idle problem, Mr. Goodwrench could not even fix, spent over 3,000 in repairs, last GM product will own. no comparison |
