The gas mileage isn't where it should be yet.
Too much brake dust on those front rims.
Can't fit 3 "adults" in the back seat, but i already realized that by looking at the car.

I have only had this car since mid March. I and my wife who drives it 90% of the time love this car very much. It is an eye catcher, the fancy ZX3 rims and the platinum color make people think it is an Audi from a distance. I am glad my ZTS has those rims and not those gosh awful "spoke" looking rims that all the other Focus' have, i think they are soooooo ugly.
When i test drove it and punched it to merge into traffic, the engine responded and sent me, my wife and the dealer flying down the road. The mileage stated is a bit suspect, i think i am not getting as good gas because of the high output engine, plus it is mainly city miles. I am glad i waited until 2001 so i hopefully avoided all of those recalls (knock on wood). Leather interior and fake wood trim i love also! We definately catch people looking at this car, even other Focus owners!!!!

1. A funny smell occasionally from air conditioner.
2. Recalls, recalls, recalls!
3. Brakes squeak when wet.
4. Wind sounds from drivers side.
5. When starting the car it sounds like it can't catch up with itself.
6. The doors are are cheaply made.
7. Gas milage over-rated!

Since I've had it the minor problems have been fine. I thought maybe I was just being too picky but.... After the fourth recall I'm aggrivated. I just got it out of the shop last week for a recall and the dealership made me aware of SEVERAL other recalls out there. Sooo they ordered ALL of the parts for those recalls. I have a busy schedule so I really don't have time for my car to be in the shop all of the time. Another one of my problems was a rare door lock haunting. My locks would just start going crazy at the strangest times. It took 5 days to fix. Luckily ford cust. service gave me a rental for four of the days. Other than the recalls.... YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Any of you who were expecting a BMW or a Vipor when you payed what you did for this vehicle then you obviously thought wrong.

well i traveled from aberdeen all the way to columbus about 1500 miles im not sure. but any ways i loved the ride down there, no problems yet and miss cleo doesnt see any in the future (just kidding about the miss cleo thing) and I highly reccommend the ford focus, and those people saying they get bad gas mileage ttt they are fricken liing there really are no bad qualities about the ford focus and those people who tell you there are well there just screwed up in the head, let them cry me a river and drown them selves in it. but really i really enjoy the ford focus right now im 18 and for the rest of my life i want a ford focus maybe trade in every 5 years with a different car but. oh man this is the car of cars. you will amaaze your family and your friends when you drive a ford focus the fun never ends. that is my saying but you can use it hahah. thank you for listing to me. now e-mail me and tell me what u think.

Brakes squeak way to much, some biuld up between wheel walls big problem!!!
way to much of wind noise problem!!!!!! paint chipping on hood rust on all four doors!!! rear wheel walls had to be replaced to much ice on them and started to fall off!!! guess waht i am in a Lease!!!! for another two years!!

It's a great car to drive in the Summer but when the winter comes aahhhhh!!. Watch out!!! overall i was impressed with all the gadgets and stuff!!!!! good for yeah money!!!!

Price / Performance Ratio, Spacious, Stylish. It's a Ford!

To much sound in the wheel wells in rain and snow. Fuel mileage could be better, but probably just my hard driving style.

Simply put, this is a great car! No wonder Car and Driver put the Focus in the Top Ten. It's roomy, comfortable, and has good power for a four cylinder.

I went with the Power Group options, A/C, Power Locks and Windows, CD Stereo, Power Mirrors. I would suggest unless you are on a very tight budget, get those options! The stereo is very good quality, I was pleasently suprised.

Fuel economy is not what is stickered

I like this car....no LOVE it!!!! I test drove a civic before buying the Focus. The Focus blows away the civic hands down. Much more powerfull and comfort is in a different world compared to the civic. I have seen some poor reviews for the 2000 Focus. I can't see where these people are coming from. Either the 2000 and 2001 are 2 different cars or these people have been hired by Honda, Toyota, etc. I would recomend this car that I have purchsed to anyone who wants performance and comfort for a great price.

Stereo sounds nice.

Here we go.
1. Trunk release doesn't work half of the time.
2. Car chugs.
3. Doesn't shift normally.
4. Gas mileage over rated.
5. Too much road noise.
6. Brakes make noise.
7. Rusting (Already!!)

I would not recomend this car to anyone. I have had to have it fixed way too many times. I have had problems with the transmission not shifting correctly. Replaced TWICE and still the problem remains unresolved. I have had the car in the shop 12 times and I am still having problems with it. Some of the other problems have been with the air conditioning, chugging while accelerating, stalling, and not starting back up. The car has a large amount of rust on it and it is less than a year old. The car makes excessive road noise and the gas mileage was way over rated. As I know there are 8 recalls on this car and I haven't heard anything, so the fun has yet to come. If you already own one I really hope yours is better than mine is.

IT HAS PLENTY OF POWER, NO WIND NOISE, GOOD LEG ROOM, GOOD LOOKS.

I DID NOT LIKE THE FACT THAT IT WOULD LOCK THE DOORS ON YA , AND IT DID NOT UNLOCK THEM WHEN YOU WANTED TO GET OUT OF THE CAR. THE AUTO LOCK SYSTEM COULD NOT BE DISSABLED.THE GAS MILEAGE COULD BE BETTER.

I FEEL THAT THE CAR WAS A GOOD CAR FOR THE MOST PART. I GOT ABOUT 26 TO 18 MPG.THE CAR TRACKED REAL WELL, EVEN IN THE WINTER TIME. IT ALWAYS STARTED GOOD. GAS MPG COULD BE BETTER.
I WRECKED THIS CAR , AFTER DRIVING IT FOR 10 MTHS A TREE FELL ON THE CAR WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT. THE TREE FLATTENED THE WINDSHIELD ROOF AREA BACK TO THE REAR OF THE PASSENGER FRONT SEATS. I CAME OUT OF THE WRECK WITH NO BROKEN BONES, BUT WITH ALOT OF BRUISES. HAD A CLASS 3 CONCUSSION AND ALOT OF PAIN. THE AIR BAG SYSTEM DID NOT DEPLOY. THE SEAT BELT SYSTEM HELD REAL WELL. I REPLACED THIS CAR WITH A GRAND AM, FOR FEAR OF ANOTHER ACCIDENT IN A SMALL CAR..

The air must be reset to have recirculation every time you turn the car off and if you dont you smell everything from the engine area of the car.

We've had this car for just under a month and I've been pounding it every day to and from work almost 100 miles per day. I havent had any problems with the car at all. There were things I had to get used to like the fact that car is so high off of the ground and I can have that much power out of a 4 cylinder engine. Overall I'd have to say that I'd probobly pay 20k for the same car if it really was that much. The stereo was really nice. We almost went with the Sony Edition but the difference was to little to switch to a more expensive car so we stayed with the ZTS. We didn't get the leather seats because down here in Orlando it gets up to about 98 degrees every afternoon from about April to almost October. I'd definitly buy another one in a couple of years and just keep on going.
