transmission slipping (been to the shop 3 times for this)
whistling in the window (which is really annoying and they could fix that either)
a knocking in the rear driver door (which to no surprise "There is no knocking")

At first the car was really nice, but then I started having problems with it. It has been to the shop 3 times in 8 months and I am very upset I spent this kind of money on a piece of junk. The technicians talk to you like you are stupid at this one dealer and I would never want to deal with them again. Fix Or Repair Daily...I believe it.

Handling, sound sytem++, comfortalbe seats, large trunk, cool rims, decent mpg, strong runner if you keep your foot in it, nice interior, all power options.

Transmission slip, rough idle, rough start, sometimes turning the key and nothing happens, wait one minute then starts. Don't drive with a/c on or you'll have to crank out to 6 grand to get the thing moving. Again, mileage is OK if you don't run the air. I haven't been in the shop in 10,000 miles but I know something needs to be fixed.

Not bad. I don't get that long term quality feel. I hope I am wrong. I am driving alot and am going to try and run her up to 200,000+. Wish me luck.

Small cheap cars

The car handles great. I have drivin a good number of cars, Buicks, Camero's, SAAB, Chevy, the car has all aspects. Comfortable, quick and nimble I am impressed with it.

I have had trouble with the A/C, even with the Recirculation button, it doesn't blow cold air anymore. Easy fix, but I was hoping it would have lasted at least 70,000 miles.. I have a couple of incidents wear the car's front right wheel would lock when I slamed on the brakes. I have learned to deal with the wind noise. Finally, though it's time for the first scheduled tune up, I recommend once you come close to 30,000 miles you get it in fast, the car looses tremedous power and sounds like a old Volkswagen when idling.

Love the car, some faults, but don't all cars... I love the style, does not look like anything from FORD! It gets alot of attention and people often ask me what it is. I get a lot of compliments with the cars abilities on or off the freeway. I drive the car a lot, from Boise Idaho to San Diego, then to Payson Arizona, and it hasn't let me down.

Premium sound, excellent handling, smooth ride

Sluggish during heat waves (isnt every car?) paint is easy to chip and flake off, very annoying sound if you forget to put seatbelt on.

What can I say...this is my baby. I've hooked it up (5% tint, body kit, custom grill, euro lights) and the heads have been turning. People say they like it better than a civic and they say it looks better when its hooked up. Other than appearance, its a quick car. I've raced AND BEAT a turbo talon. Now, this car is only a 4 with 130 hp auto. Thats something to brag about.

Compared to a VW Jetta.

Handles like a dream. Freeway action is a piece of cake. Now worries with action reaction here! The dash is angled just right for my short arms, no reaching across searching for the buttons to change atune, on... what is a awsome standard sound system. Cd player and all. My pop is 6'2" and he fits nicely in the car. More space than you would think. That, and the price are what suprises people the most.

BACKSEAT>>>>more room would be nice.. but still provides ample space for my carseat, and its 2 year old, and my 11 year old .. with room to spare. But they are kids. A bit tighter for us over 15 group.

The look The look The LOOK! For the price I was looking at.. I have head turns left and right. Got the black zts, tinted windows, spoiler, moonroof, fogs, and I love it! It handles like a dream , turns well. Took it up a looong steep hill, and my lil 4 banger. kicked it up a notch no prob. Kept up with the big boys!

Nice stereo, nice looks, nice handling

Lots of road noise (I guess that's what the stereo is for), obvious lack of quality materials, gas milage is no where near what they claim.

It's not perfect but if you just want a car that gets you places then this will do ok, although there are better small cars on the market. Ford cut corners to make this car cheap, even though I still ended up paying 14,500. I had 3 sensors go out and the brakes are squeaking. I had numerous occasions where the car won't start unless I work with it for a while. It never happens at the dealer of course, they just tell me to bring it in when that happens often enough for them to look at it. Some of the door trim is coming off already. Oh well, I guess that's how it goes sometimes.

What a piece of crap. This car won awards!? You gotta be kidding me, what the hell is this world coming to. I bought this car new and after one week the problems began (yes ONE WEEK!). The engine didn't start. Turns out the alternator was defective, so a new one was put in and all was well, right? WRONG! 1 month later the brakes started sqeeling. Oh, just to let you all know that's "normal" for this car if you can believe that. 2 weeks later the brakes suddenly stopped working! Thank God the emergency brake stopped the car. By this time I was very pissed and really started thinking that this car was a pile of crap. Well, I got the brakes replaced and even though the new brakes squeak a little at least they work. What happens next? 4 weeks I find out that the engine leaks oil! I collected a little of the dripping oil to find that it was contaminated with gas. Oh my God, this car has GOT to go. So I sold it for a 2000 Chevy Cavalier. I've had my Cavalier for a year and a half now with no problems! Normally that's nothing to get excited about but in the case of the Ford Focus it is! I lost a lot of money on the Focus and it was an extremely frusterating experience. Ford should be busted by the government for making such unsafe cars with crap materials. I can't believe that this car had so many problems, I felt like I've been robbed. Sure this is the extreme but trust me the quality of the materials and components in the Focus are very poor and no matter what Focus you buy there will be problems down the road. I don't want anyone else to get burned like I did. Avoid this car!!!

Price, Above average gas mileage, roomly interier, for the price the engine and transmission and excellent, cd player standard in the ZX3, stands out in a parking lot

blind spot on drivers side (but easily to overcome), could use some more horses in the engine to compinsate for when A/C is on

Looks funny but fun to drive. For a compact car there is a surprising amount of room in the front and back seats. Being in college looking for a new car the focus ZX3 stood out from the others I looked at because there were many standard features on it that would have racked up the price on the other models I looked at.
