Strength:

It'll make one sweet bonfire.

Weakness:

It's powered by the flames of hell. That's why it overheats on a regular basis, despite the replacement of the water pump, thermostat, radiator, and about 3732799294747574930283 bottles of coolant.

If you're thinking of buying one, don't do it. Just don't. This car is a cursed minion of the devil and should go right back to hell where it came from. Name a part, I've replaced it. Name a problem, I've had it. I have spent well over what my mother paid for it (brand new) than it was ever worth in repairs. I'm now in the process of trying to replace the exhaust manifold, which has not just a crack but the mid-atlantic rift in it. Fantastic. In addition to all of this, there is a manufacturer defect that prevents it from being smog tested in California, and therefore un-registerable. They want something like $1300 to "reprogram" the car so that I can go spend the rest of my paycheck getting it tested and registered. Forget it. The huge joke about all this is, someone actually stole it about a week ago. I know, I must be kidding. But I'm not. Unfortunately, the police recovered it a few days ago, much to my dismay. I would have been much better off had I never laid eyes on this demon seed again.

I would like to know how to contact the proper person/s regarding your Stratus ad. It is the ad with the policewoman necking with a gup in a red Stratus. What are you telling the public??? It is a complete put down of women and of female policewomen. It is degrading to all females!! And what are yo telling our children who are watching the Hockey Game!!!!

Strength:

styling, cargo space, well equipped for the price, reliable

Weakness:

plastic trim around stereo and window switches scratches easy, gas mileage not always the greatest for city driving,

What anamazing car! I love it! It is higher quality and better value than the Focus and Sunfire I used to own. I bought it brand new in June 05 and being a delivery driver put 30000km on it in the first seven months. The price of a Ford Focus and Pontiac Sunfire before tax was more than what I paid for this car with taxes included. I drove it last summer on a 10000 km highway trip and it is a dream on the highway. Smooth and quiet, it feels like a much more expensive car. The seats are some of the best I have sat in. Rear headroom is tight but I have no passengers so it's not an issue. Lots of cargo room especially with the seat down. With all the driving I do I have only done the regularly scheduled services except for some clicking while reversing which was because I ran over something. I had to replace the rear brakes at 40000km which I was surprised at. I went away for three months and had the car parked on grass with the ebrake on. That may have had something to do it. Otherwise the car now has 45000kms on it and I would keep it forever except I am torn between my next purchase. I have always liked the Tucson but the new Sonata is really sweet too. I encourage anyone looking for a new vehicle to look at a Hyundai!

Strength:

If you are a little person you will fit very nice inside the car.

Weakness:

everything listed ABOVE in the review summary.

I got this car for my sixteenth birthday. I am now 19 and I have had nothing but problems with this vehicle!

First, We bought the car with only 12,000miles on it in 2002. It was a very good deal. So I thought. The paint job on the car is absolutely horrible. If the the tinest rock flies up and hits it the paint chips off...really bad. You can tell the paint job on it was done very cheaply. Every time I wash my car paint comes off.

Second, You cannot use the key after using the remote to unlock the car because the alarm goes off! Even if you try and use to OTHER key that came with it, it sets if off. It takes forever to get alarm off and the vehicle started again.

Third, The gas mileage SOMEtimes is very good. About every 4 complete fill ups on gas is when it actually drives right, and gets the gas mileage it should get. The seat belts tangle up very easy and you have to take it to the dealership so they can unravel it and take the panel off. That isn't even covered in the warranty and it costed us $60 to get it untangled.

Fourth, The car hasn't been starting right. We thought it would have been the battery it being that the car is four years old...BUT the Altenator is NOW going out. This car is 4 years old and that SHOULD not be happening.

Strength:

handling, strong doors, mileage, brakes, headlights, style, quality, stereo, (6 speakers, fovourite songs on home stereo sound as good). Pretty, fog lights, sun roof, etc.

Weakness:

gear shift can sound chunky when in the garage, ie reverse

In the year 2000 I was looling for a new car. I had spent large sums of money that I had not budgeted for with past vehicles, so I checkd Edmunds, consumers, road and track etc. and they all wrote Hyundai was at the top of the pick. So I bought an elanta SW. After 6 years great service, I bought a 2006 GT Hatchback standard. Great gas and zoom zoom, love, love. Talk about well built!

Strength:

Decent leg room in the back seat.
Decent room for hauling when the back seats are down.

Weakness:

Fuel mileage not up to par
Comfort or lack there of
CHEAP quality interior
Lack of options to drive away with

Piece of JUNK!!!
I have had nothing but problems.
The front end has had to be aligned twice, there are more rattles and knocks than my 10 year old truck has, the mirrors have stopped working, the windows seals are leaking, the tape around the windows are pealing, the breaks are constantly mushy even after adjusting. The fuel mileage is no where near what they claim it to be. If you try and unlock the doors with the key and not the remote the alarm goes of, regardless of how you locked the car (with the key, the button on the door or the remote).

I wanted an inexpensive commuter car and I got an expensive pile of junk.
I am coming up on one year of owning this piece of junk and I highly regret ever buying it.

Weakness:

Odd decisions on interior lighting, leather prone to impressions of the seatbelt when rear seats folded down

This is my 3rd Elantra, and my first GT. I had a 2001, and a 2005 GLS that was crushed by a tree in Hurricane Wilma. I decided to upgrade to a GT, and I am thrilled, yet baffled. WHy would Hyundai take a beautiful car, both inside and out, and totally destroy it during night driving? The blue and orange gauges completly clash with the green lighting everywhere else. It gives me a headache, literally! C'mon Hyundai!

Strength:

powerful engine, good gas mileage, power windows, doors, locks.

Weakness:

GLS version not standard with CD player, installation costs mucho dinero

This car is great for a high school or college student. Not only does it have obvious strengths, such as a powerful 138 horsepower 2.0 engine, great gas mileage (24/32), a quiet ride, and a great warranty, but it also has a large trunk and plenty of room for all four passengers, unless your passengers are 6'5" and 300 lbs. I looked at all compact cars, from the Ford Focus to the KIA Spectra, and fell in love with the Elantra. You start it up and you can hardly hear the engine, but take it on the open road and rev it up and you will be on the ride of your life. With about 3/4 city driving and 1/4 highway, I average about 100 miles per quarter tank, which is awesome wuth today's high prices. If you haven't considered looking at and buying this car, I would definitely do so.

The price, value for the money, the looks, the handling, the quality, the warranty....the list goes on and on and on and on..............

Weakness:

I'm a little disappointed that it doesn't have daytime running lamps, but I will just keep my headlights on since it has automatic off. Also the stereo is a little tinny but I would have no problem investing in a good stereo.

I just upgraded to my Elantra & I LOVE IT!!!!! It has a smooth, quiet ride and it handles great. I am somewhat of a speed demon & the first time I drove that car through twisty turns I was grinnin' ear to ear. I love to drive and the Elantra is so easy to handle - it floats. You barely have to touch the gas, it stops effortlessly and the steering is phenomenal. I am soooo super impressed. I grew up around Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth freaks & I would never have considered bringing a foreign car to the table, but now I am on my own I can gladly say I made the decision myself & I am the proud new owner of a 2005 Hyundai Elantra hatchback with all available options (abs w/ traction control & the power sunroof)
