Strength:

Low price for value, warranty (I have owned 5 Hyundai's of all types and have never paid for any repairs), stylish appearance, even base model is fully equipped, and very roadworthy.

Weakness:

Some road noise - this appears to be common in Hyundai's.

Can't imagine a better car for the money. Sufficient power, smooth handling, decent gas mileage (22-24 around town), and comfort throughout.

Similar Products Used:

Traded in Buick LaSabre which couldn't compare.
Owned 1997 Elantra, 1998 Accent, 2003 Tiburon, and currently have a 2006 Tucson as well.

Strength:

A lot of car for the price.

Weakness:

Dim instrument panel. No XM Radio or GPS option. Wheels collect roadgrime.

This car has been an excellent value and ride. Most of my driving is on the highway and as a result the car is at 42,000 miles in a little under 2 years. Gas mileage is about 24 mpg with the a/c almost always on. The ride is almost always smooth and quiet. Rough pavement will transmit noise through the tires into the car. The only failure has been one maplight bulb which is an odd bulb for a car (halogen mini-stagelight) and expensive ($15.) Stopped rotating the tires at 10K and had to replace the fronts at 40K. Both mine (and neighbor's) experienced excess wear on inside of both front tires, even though factory allignment OK. Brake pads 1/2 used at 40K (maybe because of highway miles.) More roomy than wife's '05 Accord. Plenty of power, but soft ride. Hard to see lower dash instrumentation during daylight. Easy to clean, but wheels need cleaning too often.

Love the looks of the car, rides nice, big trunk, like the way it handles

Weakness:

Get your billfold out!!! Had trouble with it starting 3 wk. after I bought it. Was under warrenty, but because a code didn't show up on computor and it didn't do it when they test drove, they told me it was normal. Lurching forward from a stop. Now 1yr later, trouble starting & when it finally does, I might hit 40mph top end. Doesn't do it all the time, but 3 or 4 times a week. Dealership doesn't know what's wrong, too many codes, want me to spend 900.00 for throttle bundle, but can't guarantee that will fix problem!!!Won't honor warranty from when I first took it in last year cuz no codes on computor then. Like that's my fault. Already spent 126.00 on it last week for them to reflash computor(that was supposed to fix problem)next day same problems.

Stylish looking car, but do yourself a favor and buy a Ford. MPG is not what they advertise by a long shot. Bumper to bumper warrenty is a joke. Spend a fortune finding what's wrong with it if you have a problem.

Strength:

Good bang for the buck if you don't plan on selling it for a while. Get a dealer demo and you will get a better return on your investment.

Weakness:

Stereo sucks, seats are hard, cruise control didn't work from day one, needs more leg room (I'm 6ft. 1in) and the doors should automatically lock like every other cars in it's class. Car will take a major nose dive in value once you drive it off the lot.

This vehicle is competent, but still rough around the edges. Doesn't have the smooth handling of a Honda Accord, but has bigger cabin space. Lacks the smooth transmission of a Camry, but the interior is more plush (even though the wood like plastic looks like plastic wood). In retrospect, I should have gotten a Camry V6 SE, I just didn't want to blend in with the other millions of Camry's on the road. My recommendation if you want to go the semi-luxury Korean car maker route is to check out the Kia Amanti, a Hyundai owned company. Both share the same platform, however the Amanti has considerably more leg room and a higher level of fit & finish and drives much smoother (I rented one on a business trip)

Performance, trunk space, comfortable, extremely smooth ride for a Hyundai, good mpg, warranty is excellent, electronic air conditioning system is wonderful to use, heated seats, excellent braking, in valuable features for low price, none like it.

Weakness:

Difficulty with keeping clean

This is a gorgeous car! I love it to death! I bought my XG 350 L in December of 2003, and i have not worried about it once. After purchasing the car, I had one small problem, the fuse to the moonroof, homelink, and mirrors burnt out. That was easily fixed and paid for by the dealership through this fantastic warranty. Now after 12k miles, i noticed excessive brake dust, which i brought to the excellent dealership's attention. This problem led to faulty brake pads, and then to new pads, all paid for. Still driving the car everyday, about to hit the 14k mark, i still can not help but love this car. It is black obsidian, on black, leather interior, with the beautiful wood accents throughout the dash and steering wheel. I clean this car with a passion like no other. I wash it atleast every two weeks, and wax every other wash. The beauty of the clean obsidian shine is unlike any other. I clean out the inside about once a month. This is the car's only weakness that i have come to find. The shade of black on the interior, although beatiful, is extremely hard to keep clean. Like every car, dust will settle on the dash after a couple weeks, but this car almost attracts dust, and is very noticeable, making it become a nuisance overtime like it has to me. So if anyone has any product they can think of that is completely fiberless that i can use that will not attract dust and micro-fibers, i would be greatly appreciative. After reading the other article on the XG350, i noticed he wrote that the car gets 11 mpg in the city. He has got to have many speeding tickets, because that is the only way i can see him getting that low of gas mileage. I calculate my mpg everytime i fill up, and i have never gone below 19 mpg, and yet never above 22. I hope that this article helps you in your decision in buying this car, because i have never thought once about it being a faulty buy. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me at ramr_19@hotmail.com for any further information. Thank you for reading my article, I hope you liked it.

Strength:

Great design and performs well. Warranty sounds great. Not bad price.

Weakness:

Terribly glutton on gas at 10-11 MPG city driving and 20-22 on the highways. Will need your checkbook. Will cost you at dealership, because most work it seems will not be covered by the "bumper to bumper" gimmick--how ironic!

Pleasant design (elegant), comfortable and roomy interior and reasonably priced. Great performance on highways--good acceleration. However, for all this be prepared to spend an arm and a leg on gas at an average of 11MPG city driving and 22 on highways. Maintenance is more than you would expect. At 15,000 miles, changed one Michelin tire, radiator hose, battery, brakes, headlamp of which none is covered by the "bumper to bumper" warranty excepting the leadlamp. This will be my last Hyundai vehicle. Buy something that will last!
