Strength:

Great features, as listed by the previous reviewer, great handling, great ride, very low road noise, and what I consider to be a very low price for a high value car. I got the optional leather package (+$1805) but did not get the moon roof, heated seats, or handling package (those two packages would have, I think, added an additional $1700 or so to the total price). All in all I think this car at this price is an exceptional value, thousands less than a LeSabre or Avalon.

Weakness:

The only thing I've found to criticize is the white carpet and floor mats, which will never stay clean looking. So, I've purchased floor mats from Target to protect the floor mats that came with the car.

The "Mercedes" look attracted me. The test drive sold me. The company is currently giving $1500 cash back, another $1000 rebate because I'd been driving a Buick LeSabre, and the dealer was willing to deal. (They also gave me a great trade in on the Buick). I've received dozens of compliments on the looks of the car. I paid an extra $100 for the Pearl White. The car is absolutely beautiful, a real head turner. It out-performs any other car I've driven. I'm impressed with the 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty on the drive train (5 years, 50,000 on everything else), plus an 800 number to call for roadside service, which includes running out of gas or getting a flat. They claim to have a network of 17,000 repair sites in the U.S. and Canada to respond to the roadside service calls (I haven't had a need, so I can't veryify how quickly they respond). I've been over this car with a fine-toothed comb and can find no defects whatsoever. It appears that Kia went the extra mile in putting care and quality into their top-end car.

Similar Products Used:

This rides and handles better than my Buick LeSabre Limited, and it has more and better features. It's also much more luxurious than either the Buick or my wife's Taurus XLS.

Strength:

all of the above

Weakness:

the only thing I wish it had is MP3 capability so I could play more Bluegrass, old time and Cajun music:>)

I traded a 1990 Mercedes 300SEL with 165000 miles to this car, which compares favoreably to the old Mercedes in fit finish and quality of materials and workmanship. I paid 28,900 and got more car than a full sized Buick, Toyota, etc. and saved at least 3000 dollars or more. The Amanti has every concievable option with the 3 option packages offered. There is sun roof, leather, heated seats and mirrors, express windows, driver's seat and mirror memory that works with the 2 remote door lock controls to set the seat as programed for each remote, mirrors adjust downward in revwrse to show the curb when parking, anti spin and anti lock 4 wheel disk brakes, stability control system that corrects sideways skidding. This car rides as good as the Mercedes did, and handles better (1990). The engine compartment is even covered with a pad with openings for the dipsticks and service points, otherwise the engine is not exposed with the hood open. Transmission is a smooth shifting 5 speed auto with the shifter incorporating a manual shift option which works good in holding back on steep grades There are I believe 8 airbags plus seatbelts for safety, trunk is fully carpeted, floor mats are held in place with built in hooks on the main carpet, which holds them in place all the time, never getting bunched up under your feet. Cruise control is accurate and smooth in operation. Wheels are 16 inch mags with a full spare on an identical spare wheel. Heat and air are automatic climate control with dual settings for each side of the car, and an outlet for rear seat passengers. there is a first aid kit in the trunk in the opening for the ski pass through from the trunk to the console. Armrests with cup holders and electric outlets included. Trunk is fully carpeted with a mat included, and cargo netting included. Driving lights are standard. The sound system is superb, with so many options I am still learning about them. There is a cassette player as well as a 6 CD in dash player. Engine is 200 hp, which along with the 5 speed transmission does a good job moving it in traffic I have driven this car 3000 miles and love it, but I
