great handling even in snow. awesome gas mileage. head room for person over 6 ft. short throw shifter. Zoom-Zoom.
Weakness:
rear seat leg room (lack of). blind spot on passenger side rear. black interior. I love my 3! I wasn't too sure about it before I had it broken in, but now it seems to ride quieter, and has more power than at first. I am averaging 35mpg even with a lot of city driving. Weakness:
air conditioning (could be stronger for places like South Florida) Awesome little car. Bought it complete minus navigation. It accelerates very well (0-60 in 7.1 sec), stock suspension is awesome for speed turns without being too harsh and the brakes are the best in its class even comparing with some sports car. I've bought it to my wife and end up keeping it for the pleasure of drivin. It has a ATX automatic transmission and I use it always in manual. Shifting is quick and easy and you don't even think it is a manual other than being sequential. Have I bought it for me I would chose a manual since this car without the power loss of the automatic transmission would be simply perfect. I have 25k miles on it with no issues at all. The car looks to be new (tks to the leather interior) and very solid. The H structure used by Volvo and ported to this car is simply amazing in create a solid body. This car in a MazdaSpeed dress, 240+ hp and 4 wheel drive will be a dream and I will buy it as soon as it is released. Similar Products Used: Mercedes 230 Subaru Impreza Nissan Altima Dodge Stratus |

The handeling is quick and very responsive. Ride is smooth even with the sport setup. Mazda reliabiliy is uncompromised and canot be beat. Interior design is a work of art for the compact line. The interior is roomy and you will have no problem if you plan to have children. It will be hard to cruse at 70 mph because it seems to ride better at 100mph. I love the controles on the steering wheel.
Weakness:
I can't stand people who base there opinion on someting as trivial as bad brake pads. This car is great and I will keep my review up over the many years I plan to own the Mazda 3. I recently bought a 2004 Mazda 3. I cant tell you how much I love this car. After extensive research on various makes and models I decided to go with Mazda because of the raving reliability reviews. It is redish orange 5 door with 40,000 miles and still looks and smells new. Similar Products Used: 1988 Mercedes 190E 2000 Cavelier 1998 Dodge Ram Gas Hog |

Great car but he breaks are horrible (buyer beware)!
Weakness:
The brakes on my brand new Mazda 3 scream horribly when I am backing out of my garage or using them when I first put the car in motion. I have seen references to this problem on the Internet from other drivers and even heard a complaint about it on NPR's Click and Clack. No joke. I urge anyone interested in buying this car to inquire as to the problem with the brakes. My dealer never mentioned it, but the service department was well aware of it when I called. This is a great car, but I feel completely ripped off and really think I have no recourse under existing lemon laws. Beware of a beautiful yet FLAWED product-- Mazda 3 -- Buyer Beware!!!! |

Strength:
Smooth ride, flat cornering, strong braking. Engine not as noisy as the others.
Weakness:
My golf bag doesn't fit without folding down the back seat. Compared to Toyota Matrix and new Civic. Found the Mazda more befitting to my taste for sports cars. Needed a commuter vehicle with better mileage. Not as good as the others but sacrificed for performance instead. I got the autobox due to a lot of rush hour driving. Options list is loaded except nav. (I know my way around my own city) Decent value. Just hope the resale value is there in a few years. Not the quickest in price class although has very good cornering and braking for a stock vehicle. Will consider mods if available. Strength:
sharp looking good acceleration, sharp interior, low gas consumption, fun
Weakness:
air conditioner is weaker than I would like. I love my Mazda 3. It's fun to drive. It's got great acceleratioin. It looks sharp. I got a stick shift car <-- even more fun. So far it's been great (I've had it for 5,000 miles). There are very few vehicles I would prefer to mine. And it was only $15,000 (plus the $600 dealer fee). I look around me and see cars that cost 2 or 3 times as much that are less reliable and uglier. Makes me happy with my choice. Let's see how happy I am when the car's got 30,000 miles or 50,000 on it. |

This is a driver's car. There is a great "road feel" that has to be felt to be understood. The telescoping steering column is great for tall folks like me.
Weakness:
none to speak of for the money This is the most basic model of the Mazda 3. It has the smaller drive train with a manual transmission. I love this car. There is plenty of low end torque, so hopping around the neighborhood is fun. On the highway the car behaves very smoothly and quietly. Overall gas milage is near 30 mpg. When pushed through curves the handling of the car is exhilirating, predictable and distinctive. I upgraded the speakers on the stereo and it was well worth the money spent. You will not find a better car for the money. Similar Products Used: still driving a 91 626. |

Pretty much everything from handling to the interior quality. Acceleration is very good. This Mazda is very quick and agile.
Weakness:
Air Conditioning, subwoofer, no rear ashtray The Mazda 3i has been a joy to drive. It has great handling and the manual setting is a great option. The interior is great and the seat fits a woman perfectly. Suprisingly it is very roomy for it's size and I also have not had any major problems since i purchased the vehicle. The only thing i do not like about this vehicle is that the Air Conditioning does not get very cold in hot conditions. Also the low beams aren't very strong and sometimes make it hard to see. |

Honestly, everything...
Weakness:
There is a lack on leg room for very tall people in the back seat...But I usually dont have anyone back there. I love this car. I have driven everything from a 93 Civic Sedan, 2000 Cougar, 93-96 Maxima etc... And I love this car. It's an inexpensive sedan, that feels sporty. There is nothing I dont like about this car...except the fact that I'm so in love with it I have to clean it almost daily. Ah...my addiction. |
