Strength:

Great Handling, Low Stance, Hot Looks.
Excellent Performance with High Octane Gas and without
Great Interior, great speakers. The car is amazing!

Weakness:

Mufflers rot easy
Coudn't find one with a manual tranny
Oil light always on, sensor replaced and it still comes on

Great Car, It was my first.Beats the snot out of all my friends pathetic four banger Hondas,
and without any mods.
However, for better performance, get a K & N filter and use Supreme gas.
You wouldn't beleive the difference it makes in the already great performance.

The 92-95 gt body styling was the best of any Grand Am.

Everything! I dont know who keeps writing these negative reviews but look at the facts. This car is just plain fast for a 6 with a 0-60 time of 7.7 seconds(that is the same as the v6 accords everyone seems to worship) and i can beat v6 camaros, firebirds and mustangs. I can also beat 80's irocs and trans ams (automatics, lets face it die hard iroc fans, your cars suck). The features are far superior to any other cars in its class. The stereo is incredible for stock(takes almost no effort to upgrade considerably) and to top it all off, the car looks great. I think some people need to start showing pride in their country and stop buying civics and accords.

Weakness:

it wouldnt start once, on the first try, but after that it was ok. I dont know where magazine people are getting that it does not handle maybe some driving lessons are in order...

Finally beats the imports. Very quick, (if you want real speed, any trans am or z28 AFTER 1993, come on, 230 hp out of a 350(pre 93)? weak.) long list of standard features, good looks, great price. What else could you possibly want?

honda accord, 300m. same speed, equal features, much better price.

Strength:

Awesome power, smooth ride, quiet as can be I really have no idea why ppl say its loud in these other reviews, its style and deep purple color make for an overall slick presentation

Weakness:

radio quality is ok but my girlfriends 97 breeze has a much better stereo
gas economy isnt too hot
brakes work great but grip so tight so easy that I can expect future overheating and failure if I drive hard

Best car ive ever owned, I just feel like im in a sports car. Its not a massive engine but the V6 gives me all the power I need, hills are effortless on cruise control and passing is not a worry, style of car is exactly what a semi-sports car should be

Strength:

Great Handling, Sufficient HorsePower, Plenty of Accesories, Lots of Trunk Space, Good Looking (stylish). I travel all over the Northeast and find my car to be comfortable, reliable and economical.

Weakness:

Here is an important tip for those who have brake/handling problems within the first year of owning your GT. Pontiac had a rotor problem with the GT's, in which the rotors were warped and needed replacement. They did not issue any recalls. I found out from two friends that had the same problem as I did with shaking durring braking at +25mph. My dealer was aware of the problem. My friends and myself were told to bring in the vehicles for rotor replacement. The dealer did so, and replaced the brake pads all at no charge. If you experience this problem contact your dealer. Other than that, I would have liked to seen an automatic/locking gas door on the GT (convenience/safty).

Research before buying! I decided to lease my vehicle for business purposes, but I am very pleased an may consider buying at EOL.

Awesome motor, great ride, sporty looks, super clear paint job, easy to work on, 2.4L (Super quick little thing), 5spd tranny

Weakness:

5 speed tranny can be notchy somtimes, not a lot of performance parts/body kits for it.

Enough with all the bashing of this car. Mine is a 97 SE, no power option, no thrills. This car is awesome. Sweet engine matted to the 5spd, and let me tell you this thing hauls @ss! Going to put Eibach spring kit to drop it a little, new KYB struts(My whole suspension just went with 35,xxx miles on the car). Great price+great body style=Awesome value. I cant imagine driving a better car, especially being in college with no money! Car is super reliable, nothing has gone wrong except for the suspension, which I wanted to change anyways. Will keep this car for a long long time. Couldnt be happier!!!!

Strength:

this car gets great gas mileage. The steering and turning radius are great. During the winter (like 3/4 of the year here, it sat outside every night, and every morning it started right up. It is a very dependable car. The interior is comfortable and roomy. I can easilly fit 4 adults and myself.

Weakness:

Well... it is a 4 cylinder... but just about everything is or has gone wrong. I've had to replace the head gasket, the transmissin is very sluggish, the entire exhaust system is bad, so the car is loud, there are electrical problems (the oil light comes on, then goes off, even though the oil level is fine), the passenger window fell out of the track, the sunroof leaks, the rear defroster hardly works, the shocks are a joke (BUMPY ride), and other small and annoying problems.

I've had this vehicle for a little over a year. I got a great deal on it. Even though there have been a ton of little problems, it is actually a very reliable car. It gets amazing gas mileage, and the body is in great condition. I live in Minnesota, and through all our harsh winters, it has no rust at all. It is a pretty cute car, and considering it is a '92, it does look pretty sporty. It has been a great first car for me. It's definitely no race car, but what can you really expect from a 2.3 4-cyl.? I would never buy another Grand Am older than a 99, because it does have a lot of problems.

Similar Products Used:

97 Grand Am SE. I've noticed that my 97 is developing a lot of the same problems... maybe its just Grand Ams in general.
