Strength:

Acceleration, comfort, style.

Weakness:

Brakes

Great car for the price. Above average acceleration, average top speed, brakes are a bit weak. Some design quirks are; the serpentine belt goes around the front engine mount, the center console cupholder placement (automatic), and if you drive in the rain with the drivers window cracked be prepared to get very wet (nothing to divert the water from windshield around the door). I have 148k miles on my car and so far the only thing replaced is front brakes, tires, and an alternator. I had a problem with the dash rattles I hear so many reviews about, but most of them dissapeared when I got my tires balanced. Word of advice for those of you complaining about frequent breakdowns CHECK YOUR FLUIDS REGULARLY and if you drive it like a race car you will be repairing it regularly like a race car. Ask anyone who races.

Model Reviewed: Grand Am SE

Strength:

The best features of the GA SE, in my humble opinion, would be the asthetics. Every part of the car (inside and out) was made to be oggled by jealous onlookers.

Weakness:

I can think of no worst part. If I had to choose something I would change, I would probably suggest that they factory tint the windows! Everything about the car is perfect (so far)!

Pure Excitement. I originally wanted a truck, the lender said it was a no go, so I chose the 99 GA SE. Now I'm saying "What truck!?!?". Excelent gas mileage and PLENTY of "zoom-zoom" on this little four cylinder. It looks beautiful and handles ten times better than it looks! The overall placement of everything on the inside of the car is.. for lack of a better word, ergonomical. It just seems like you become a part of this snappy little eye catcher. This is the car made for mom and for dad. It has the economical (in price, gas and maintanence) stamina to put a smile on dad's face... and the get up and go to put wind tears on moms cheeks!

Test drove a Chevy Cavalier RS and a Chey Monte Carlo.. I could have had any of the three.. I walked away with the 1999 Grand Am SE. Enough said :)

Strength:

Fast, sporty, cute little car overall

Weakness:

It seems that I am not the only one with a problem with the drivers side window. I have a manual roll up. I've known others with this problem. Seems we all have a regulator problem in the window

Used to get me where I needed to go.

This compares terrible to other cars i've driven. I've driven a 85 crown vic and the thing held up longer than this.
