Toyota Avalon (2010 and older) Midsize | Compact

DESCRIPTION

Tthe 2010 Toyota Avalon may still be the best value in its class. Inside its spacious cabin, the Avalon can feel like a luxury car. Its upscale interior and quiet, well-cushioned ride wouldn't be out of place in the Lexus lineup. The Avalon's up-front purchase price is also higher than some similar cars, but large car prices have been rising quickly in recent years, and its price tag no longer stands out much. The Avalon offers a lot for the money -- and is more reliable and fuel-efficient than many competitors, allowing buyers to recoup some of that cost.

All trims are equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 268-horsepower engine that achieves 20-mpg in the city and 28-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.

Strength:

If this is near-luxury, who needs luxury? This baby is smooth! No compromises - powerful, quiet, great JBL sound, and easy to handle. Rear seat legroom is greater than most larger cars (be warned, your friends will always want you to drive) Lots of nice touches like stowaway pockets, grocery bag hooks, trunk net and a 115-v outlet at the rear of the center console.

Weakness:

Vehicle Stability System (traction control) adds a lot to the price. Do you really need that?

Unbelievably smooth and quiet. Powerful. Agile. Excellent comfort for big folks in front or rear. Consider this if you are thinking about Lexus. Back seat is as comfortable as the Sedan de Ville and fits into the garage with more room to spare. I don't know where you will find a finer car in this price range.

Similar Products Used:

Quiet and smooth as our 2001 Deville. Softer leather and seat cushions than the German sedans.
