Strength:

Solid structure, great quality materials in cabin, just enough power, great sound system, very refind, great road manners even with 15" wheels...

Weakness:

Very narrow seats, could do better gas milege, course engine sound, why can't we get a normal small engine from europe, ambitious diesel price

Down size from 07 BMW 530, this was a great choice, can't beleive i was considering Honda civic...

Strength:

Great acceleration, immaculate interior and exterior - extremely comfortable especially for beaudacious people!

Weakness:

Not as silent as expected, could use a lower setting on windshield wipers.

Overall - what can I say it is the SHAM-WOW of small cars today, and solid, and supreme comfort, for a highway traveller who can ask for more, visibility all around is excellent not hard to do the shoulder checks, and lots of room, go ahead eat your BIG MACS you can grow in this car - Germans took the large person into consideration BRAVO!!!! No weakness in acceleration it actually scares you at the beginning WOE Nellie!!! It does not take long to get the reins under control, Phew! Better watch your speedometer, it goes like white lightning, the car is cool just awesome!!! Guarantee this car is a hidden GEM in the car market, worth every penny you put into it, now winter is coming lets see how it does there, will keep you informed.

Model Reviewed: Golf 2.0L 2 Door TDI

Strength:

Great gas mileage. high quality of fit and finish inside & outside. This car has a lot of features. Great sounding radio. Feels solid on the road.

Weakness:

Since these cars are in demand and hard to get, people are paying at least sticker to buy this car. Little noticeable road noise. Getting used to driving a manual 6 speed diesel. Has a timing belt instead of a chain -- but I hear these belts today will last over 100k, so I guess its not a big deal these days.

Great car overall. VW has really stepped up their quality in the past several years to better compete with Toyota. I know back in the early 2000's you can read in the forums all the horror stories of VW, but in these past several years quality has improved, you can see the improved ratings in quality on consumer reports web site and other sites too. Plus the Diesel TDI if properly taken care of will last a long time.
