Impreza GL Season (A/C)
Strength:
Superb braking even in emergency situations, your glasses will get smashed before the car does! Incredible AWD abilities, especially in snow, impressive build quality, wonderful sound at acceleration, outstanding acceleration and unbeatable cornering and handling!
Weakness:
The only reason you'll find a impreza at the side of the road will be because it's out of petrol and sometimes you cannot look as fast at the fuel tank indicator as it gets empty! The best quality/price/performance/fun for money bargain I ever made! Even my Grandfather of 85 years which is a car expert and normally only respects german cars was not believing his eyes and ears when I opened the bonnet and he had a look at the motor, just after I bought it! With a almost whispering voice he admitted: "The japanese are really more advanced in motor and electronics!" It is (the stationwagon model) very spacious, for changing homes, can handle heavy loads, very well equipped for Familys with children lock! - I used it under extreme winter conditions, driving from a swiss mountain resort called Arosa (1800 m) Similar Products Used: Before I had a Fiat Tipo which in comparison was more like a link trainer for pilots because you learned all about every problem you can possibly have with your car in all your life in only a short period! It's like comparing the sun and the rain with each other! |

Outback Sport
Strength:
Very solid feel, fun to drive, reliable, rally pedigree.
Weakness:
2.2 engine kinda lame (all new ones have 2.5!!!!), requires mods to be fun, for me anyway. Needs sound system from Legacy or aftermarket. Parts expensive and GOOD service departments are hard to find Solid, reliable, fun transportation. 2.2L. engine lacks zip but has been enhanced with intake/exhaust work and an aluminum crank pulley, which has made the car a whole lot more fun. Just passed 100K km.(60K miles), and the only repair required has been front brakes. Change fluids as recommmended and this car will last forever. Car is used for work (city-driven) and is OUTSTANDING especially in Canadian winter, eh, but is equally adept at twisty forest roads with a mountain bike on the back. Interior sort of cheesy and has developed some rattles as it ages, but then again so have I! Sound system low-end Clarion AM/FM cassette and is barely adequate. Room for family of three plus large dog, but is not an ideal primary family vehicle. Similar Products Used: In current condition, will smoke an Audi A4 1.8 at half the price. My previous car was 5.0 Mustang LX, and I am now a confirmed Subaru nut , so that says something for the Subaru experience. (we have two of them !!!!) There are no similar products in the same price range, but if you want to have more fun and use less gas than in a Ford Exploder, get a SUBARU! |
