Hot & wicked styling Horsepower gallore Great instrumentation Fast operation on convertible top Ground-hugging handling

Weakness:

Harsh ride (forget railroad tracks) Seats too narrow for average buttocks Poor visibility with top up

I have a red Touring convertible which I purchased last week. I fell in love with it last January at the LA Auto Show. It seems like an incredible car for under $40K. I traded in my BMW convertible, which had developed too many electrical problems.

Power! Looks!

Weakness:

Convertible rattles at little but I think that is to be expected. Lousy speakers...too tinny!!!! In a car of this price should audio system should sound much better. I had a much better sound from my little pontiac sunfire. Poor gas mileage but then you knew that, didn't you!

I had a 240SX for 10 years....loved it, never had a single problem. Bought a 2000 Celica...nothing but problems. Bought the Z...I love being back with Nissan. However, two things which I have noticed (I only have 1200 miles on it so I haven't noticed any other problems as noted in this forum)...is it just me or just a convertible but the sound system is pretty bad? I thought Bose speakers were supposed to be great but with base up to 5, treble down to -5 still sounds tinny to me. And, second, what the heck is that hissing noise that starts up about 2-3 seconds after you turn on the car? Dealer hears it but can't find it and it is present on 3 other Z's they turned on. And how can you shut it off? It is very annoying! Seems like it is coming from the speakers but I really can't identify it. Buy this car if you have a second car to use as no trunk space, no children, scary winter driving. Don't buy this car if you don't want people circling your vehicle in parking lots or if you don't want to get noticed.

I highly recommend the burnt orange ventilated leather seats. The ventilation seemed like it might be a gimmick when I ordered it, but they really do work well. Handling is the best thing about this car. The convertible top operates as well as cars costing lots more. Looks good top up or down.

Weakness:

Terrible brake dust on the front wheels. Gas mileage is poor, but if you buy this car its hard to imagine that you would care. Cup holders are really weak - the only one that is usable is very unstable. Why does Nissan recommend a 1200 mile break-in period? I have never seen this in any car I purchased in the last 10 years!

The 350Z Roadster is a great value compared to similar vehicles. I have owned an Audit TT Roadster and the Nissan has similar styling and more power. I also considered the Honda s2000 and BMW Z4. Compared to both of these, the 350Z is a better value. My only regret is paying full retail but thats the price you pay when the car is new and in high demand (I ordered it in November of 2003).

price should be lower it only has a v6.

A friend of mine bought this car. I have driven it a couple of times. I'm planning on re-wiring a new sound system in it. This car is a true dream to drive. The only thing I have to mention is the stiff shift. It does have a short throw shifter but it seems it simply just wants to stay in neutral, and not into the next gear while shifting. Other than that, it is a crowd pleaser and head turner. It's a harsh drive but it's glued to the road. I would buy this car.

The look and feel of the car is great for the price. It is an eye catcher! Plenty of headroom for such a small car!

Weakness:

Front tires cupped terriable after only 13k miles, road noise was awlful and the ride was rough, Nissan did replaced the two front tires however, dealership mechanics damaged my rims and paint and scratched my front headlights, they take little responsibility! Paint is week, stereo and speakers low end poor performance!

MY car is fantastic, great color (Daytona Blue)looks like a 50K luxury car, fast and holds to the road. Gas mileage not great. Interior use of space poor. No where to hold cell phone or cds. Blind spots take a bit getting use to.

Great on the road, fast as one needs to go in four or five seconds

Weakness:

The Paint!!!! It is chipping all on one side of the car. Dealer says it is road dings, but this happened at 1500 miles. It looks as though there is a flaw in the paint. The dealership was very nice while selling the car but now that there is a problem, they are not as nice, rather they would like me to go away.

Great car for the money. When you hear it start you will be sold. I looked at the BMW z4 but not the same feel behind the wheel

FAST AS ALL HELL!!!!!1 Everytime I step on the gas after the engine warms up this car suprises me Looks like a 50k car not a lot of them where I live.

Weakness:

gas mileage could be better from a car this small but who cares no cargo space factory speakers are horrible watch out for steep drive ways because the car sits so low blind spots take some gettin used to

I've been looking for a car for over 3 months and never looked at the Z. I thought simply looking at it that it was a 35-40k car which is waaay out my price range. Then one day I saw one on ebay for 25 and it blew me away. So after test driving 15 cars and trucks and not felling like any of them said "welcome home buy me" I decided to test drive one. I WAS SOLD WHEN I HEARD THE ENGINE START UP. Driving it was like I was some sort of driving virgin. It has been a great experience owning this car as it has given me reasons to drive my friends everywhere. Driving has now become a hobby because of this wonderful car

Premature front tire wear, stiff suspension

When I first bought my Nissan 350Z, I was very pleased with the performance, handling and styling and thought Nissan had pulled off a major coup in recapturing the success of the Z line. I still feel that way with one exception. The front tires on these cars will wear prematurely and Nissan seems to be ducking the problem. After 14,000 miles I need new front tires due to cupping or uneven wear. Nissan should avoid losing the enthusiasm they have generated with this new Z and correct this problem asap.

This is a great car except for one serious problem. The insides of the front tires are cupping badly. There is terrible road noise below 30mph and when braking. Nissan has a real problem here. They owe us owners new front tires.

blind spots ,and yes u will feel every bump

I have owned this car (350z) now for about 3 months or 4100 miles as to now i am still happy with my choice...SOME People say theres a few problems with this and that i dont see any problem at all except big blind spots and feeling every bump on the road. I feel this car is honestly the best ive ever driven since in the past i have had a porsche boxer S type and a corvette 1999 I can truly say the nissan 350z feels comparable if not better in performance than any of these cars which i have driven in the past....I would also appreciate all you haters stop talking crap about the Z cause it basically busts dick on all ur cars
