Strength:

Looks,power,handling,reliability, and value.

Weakness:

Not a cargo hauler(2 people max).Eats clutches if modified-even aftermarket clutches. If your looking to buy one-good luck-they are very rare.

This review is for a 95 Supra Twin Turbo. The best affordable sports car made. I've owned mine for 60000 miles with only 1 recurring problem( see weakness). My car is lightly modified with an exhaust and intake and some suspension work. Its been running high 11 quarter miles for 3 years. This is the only car I have owned that has increased its value.

Strength:

Fast and nimble

Weakness:

I already sunk $3000 into this car for repairs

Parents bought this car for me once I turned 16. It only had 80,000 miles, not bad for being 11 years old. It the fastest car at my school and work.

Strength:

Very good looking car. Reasonably quick and great handling and braking. Can get one fairly cheap.

Weakness:

Things were constantly going wrong. Parts were only available at dealerships and repair costs were very high. Not a good car for a struggling college student.

Saved up money from warehouse job for close to a year. Paid cash for beautiful 88 supra. Had car for about a year. Couldn't keep up with constant expensive repairs. tried so hard to like car but constant repairs made it impossible. Sold car and got a Dodge shadow for $1400. It's not as fun or as fast but I can live with it and it hasn't had any problems.

Strength:

Nice looking interior and exterior, nice sounding engine, decent acceleration, great brakes

Weakness:

Money pit

A sharp looking car especially considering its age, much more conservative than newer (Mk4) Supras in all respects, including price. I wanted a relatively fast car with decent reliability; what I got was a relatively fast car with very poor reliability. At age 14 things are breaking on this car faster than I can keep track. Last year I replaced the p/s pump, suspension, and air conditioner at a cost of over $2500. I was hoping that would be the last of it, but now I have a leaking water pump, engine leaking from valve seals at a rate of 1 qt every 1,000 miles, leak in transmission fluid, numerous electrical problems... The engine (aside from oil leaks), clutch and transmission (again, aside from leaks) are fine otherwise. It's pretty fun to drive but for the cost of ownership you can be leasing a new car...

Strength:

Very quick and fun to drive... (I own a Mustang GT convertible, and I let my wife drive it so I could have the Supra!) Handles extremely well Japanese engineering Much rarer than the Detroit sports cars

Weakness:

Sucks gas pretty badly (My GT actually gets better mileage, usually, with a 5.0 in it) Useless back seat Rarity makes it more difficult to find parts cheap locally without the 'right connections'

I've read a lot of reviews, and I haven't driven this Supra very long, but I see a pattern among Supra owners. For an individual with a desire to drive a quick, exciting sports car, without paying a bundle, the Supra is great. Unless you want to invest a little extra, stick with the n/a version. The power is still good, it handles great, and you won't see a million of them on the road. Supras Rule! I don't believe you should buy a Supra just because you're caught up in the hype... They still have their flaws, you could get a 'lemon', and, without modifications, they're not going to blow everything off the road (no matter what anyone tells you)... .....but, most Supra owners are satisfied, and, if you've been in love with them since you laid eyes on your first (like I have :-)), go ahead and try it out... I don't think you'll be disappointed. Oh, and I have over 150k miles on mine, and know nothing of a head gasket problem (as of yet)... if it does blow, though, I will have it fixed right (metal)!

Strength:

looks, Automatic transmission, big brakes but weighs 1500+. Double wishbones, great electrically adjustable seats(like new m3)

Weakness:

Needs 2jz transplant for ultimate go. Needs lowering, rims or sideskirts

Great 8 speed (two of each gear) Auto with surging (like a stall converter). Smooth as any new car but engine head goes easily and machine gun rattles if short type piston engine not serviced properly. 210 KW, non turbo 300zx turbo or anything this side of a GTR. Timeless curves especially wide body with flared gards. Needs to be low to match new supras looks or stance or sideskirts. Needs new intake filter, airflow meter of V8 lexus and a full exhaust (supa load but) and let her rev over seven and feel the grip push your full comfy tourer with 100kg friends take Wrx into second gear, even in the wet.

Strength:

Power, Refinement. Awesome A/C. Hotter than hell during cold Canadian winters.

Weakness:

Head warping due to heat. Turbo went at 180,00km. Eats brakes. Requires head/block planing = $3000. Turbo = $5000 Brakes = $800

This car was always my dream car. My brother owned it from new; I loved when he let me drive it. I was hooked ! Awesome, quiet power. Very low, smooth, predatory beast. Best in class for smoothness, quietness and TICKETS ! Would recommend against this car due to weak head design and turbo. Very expensive
