Strength:
Shiftronic in the canyons, looks, takes quick turns, very durable when breaking fast, gas mileage for an SUV
Weakness:
A little slow when shifting from first to second I have over 5,000 miles on the Santa Fe and I have had no problems whatsoever. If you have problems with the transmission I question the way you treat your automobile! I have taken my Santa Fe everywhere here in Salt Lake:on-road, off-road,up and down the canyons, and in snow. If you have problems going up steep grades, use the shiftronic. All you have to do is drop it a gear, and I guarantee you will fly. I researched this baby to death, and I do not regret my purchase at all. Yesterday I was almost in a serious accident when someone cut me off, I braked very hard and the Santa Fe stopped on a dime. It did not shake or show any signs of weakness. I feel safe having my wife drive this SUV, even with the crappy Utah drivers we have!!! 2wd GLS pewter santa fe
Strength:
price, handling, comfort
Weakness:
cruise control button cramps up steering wheel My wife and I were shopping for a car and was supposed to buy a toyota rav4 or a nissan exterra or mazda tribute when while surfing thru the internet isaw that the top vehicle for compact suvs in the crash test and vhicle satisfaction tests given by the NHTSA and insurance company was a hyundai santa fe. i cheked it out further in the internet and found good reviews. i looked for it at nearby nearby dealerships but found they were out of stock. luckily while my friend bought a toyota corolla we spotted one on show. it was already taken but my dealer (Justine Jones) allowed me to test drive it. It drove pretty well as compared to the rav4 and xterra and the price is good enough. it is very stylish and has lots of features. plus i liked the shiftronic idea cz i do sometimes miss the control of manual shifts. i also like the independent suspension. it rides like a car. Plus with the ten year warraty you cant lose. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. Similar Products Used: honda crv (too much reliance n brand name so did not care on improving product) |

Offline power This car is a best bet in it's class. Drive them all, & you will definately have Hyundai at the top of your list. Add in the warrenty, & you will be driving your's home today. Similar Products Used: Ford Escape/Mazda Tribute. The Hyundai is overall a better vehicle. |

Strength:
Nice ride, quality finish, fully loaded, leather, not too large, nice styling, longest warranty on market
Weakness:
none that are worth mentioning Cruises like a luxury car on long trips. Practical size, excellent gas mileage for an SUV! Similar Products Used: The Santa Fe GLS vehicle tops the Mazda Tribute, the closest competitor, in every respect. The RAV-4 and the CR-V, when equipped like the Santa Fe, cost almosty as much butdon't offer nowhere near the features and performance. The Highlander with comparable equipment lists for over $10,000 more than the Santa Fe... |

Strength:
looks, performance, fit & finish, price, gas mileage
Weakness:
brand reputation, poor marketing Was going to purchase a Mazda tribute, when I passed by the local Hyundai dealer and saw this beautiful Nordic White Santa Fe on the lot. Decided to give it a test drive. Well, i bought the thing then & there. It drove so much nicer than the Tribute did! I have the 4cyl auto, and it has excellent pickup ( my prior car was a mitsu eclipse, so you're not reading a post from grandpa here). Similar Products Used: tribute, escape |

Santa Fe 4wd GLS
Strength:
Handling and Control. Smooth ride, Great looks.
Weakness:
The fact that the roof rack rails weren't included. What good is a roof rack without the rails?! This car handles great! I haven't had a car that handles this good ever. I went through the winter with it. When everyone else was stuck in their driveway with 15" + of snow, my Santa Fe ROCKED! Similar Products Used: I also own a Montero Sport, I don't use it anymore. |

Strength:
All inclusive pricing. Not many optional items.
Weakness:
Cruise control and lock/unlock buttons are not lighted This is an SUV that drives like a car. Nothing even comes close in its price range. Big 16" tires make it a great ride. And a 5 year 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty will have it still covered when your payments have already ended. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
The vehicle has plenty of power for a 3750lb SUV. The Santa Fe has enough power and will reach 80mph with no problem. The interior has plenty of space and is very quiet. My 96 Concorde wasn't as quiet. I think Hyundai has a winner. The quality is there also, I have looked for days trying to find a defect. There are none. Look at the attention to detail Hyundai has put into the vehicle. There is nothing hanging from the underside either. People really need to give this one a chance. Try it, I think you'll like it. I really wanted the GLS 2WD model. I bought the GLS 4WD instead.
Weakness:
No sun roof, would of liked to have one. Egress from the rear seat is a bit tight, larger door opening would be better. Step rails as an option would be helpful. No major weakness found yet. This vehicle really deserves more credit than it getting. People wake up and try a Santa Fe. Try to find one at your locale dealership they are hard to find. I got mine so cheap because I work at a bank. Similar Products Used: I compared the Hyundai Santa fe to the Ford Escape, Mazda Tribute and the Honda CRV - I even thought of going to the Izusu rodeo. The Hyundai just seemed to fit right. Not too big and not too small. |

Some people prejudices. This has to be the best small SUV! It also scored the best for the insurance institute crash test. Similar Products Used: Escape, Tribute, Explorer, beats all the competition. |
