Good looks, Great handling, Recaro Seats

A company that doesn't back it's product.

I currently own a 1999 Isuzu VehiCross with only 62,000 miles on it. On November 1, 2003 the main bearings in the engine failed due to a defect in the bearings. I had the SUV towed to my local Isuzu dealer to find out what was wrong. They contacted me on Monday Nov. 3rd saying that the motor was bad and could not be repaired or rebuilt. Then they said that it would need a new engine installed at the price of $5,500. Isuzu would not replace the motor due to the warranty expiring only 2,000 miles ago. I have tried to contact the Owner Relations Dept at Isuzu, but each time I talk to someone they put me on hold to tranfer me to a manager which ends up being a voice mail that noone returns calls from. I was wondering if there is anything else I could do to try to resolve this problem. I love the VehiCross, but I am very upset that Isuzu won't stand behind a quality issue that was totally out of my hands. I planned on keeping the VehiCross for a long time and now I'm afraid to hold on to it because the new engine will only be warranteed for 24 months. I don't know if anyone else has ever had a problem with Isuzu and I wish I could say that I haven't, unfortunitely I am experiencing very little cooperation from them. My local dealership has provided me with a loaner car at no extra expense and is willing to discount the engine and the labor since Isuzu won't help. I don't have a bad thing to say about the dealer as they have been great every time I've had service in the past. They are actually embarrassed that Isuzu won't stand behind their product. Please pass this on to other Isuzu owners in order to warn them of this experience.

This is one of..if not the nicest SUVs out there. The interior is sweet... (black and orange leather in mine).Pretty fast for a suv of its size and wieght. also is a nie car for the snow and maybe some off roading as well.

I've seen one parked @ an apartment by the beech a couple of times, (I dident know what it was) and it caught my eye so today I saw it again and had to stop to check it out! this things "bad ass" couldent find any more info on the web (izuzu dosent have it on the web) any more info and photos anywhere? i want one!!!

A-For starters, there's a wonderful Internet "family" out there dedicated to the Vehicross. It seems like the great majority of the 4100-odd VX's sold in the USA have owners that have the same fondness for their trucks that I do. Go to www.vehicross.info or www.clubvmag.com to see what I mean. B-Leather Recaro seats, nothing like sitting in a Recaro.... C-18" Chrome rims are stock D-If you like to be unique, this is your truck, you'll never see yourself coming and going....and if you do, it's an event, as VX etiquette demands you stop and say "Hi!" E-Decent stock (Fujitsu Ten) stereo with Clarion speakers....I replaced mine anyway. F-Fun to drive! It truly embodes the concept of a SUV that drives like a sports car...well, like a damn sporty truck at least. G-Surprisingly roomy backseat and cargo area...of course, one does a interesting little dance to climb in the back seat, but oh well. Can hold multiple suitcases along with my skiis.

A-Mileage...not so nice. 15 city, 19 highway. B-For some odd reason, the rear door only opens with a key. However, you can buy a rear door "popper", along with host of other great VX after-market modications, at http://tonemonday.com C-As everyone says, Rear window visibility...easily fixed with "Vaneyes", which is a parabolic mirror which affixes to inside of rear window, and 2" blind spot mirrors stuck to your side mirrors. Actually, that feature has probably made me a better driver, as there's no way I make a lane change unless the coast is clear from multiple angles.

What a fantastic truck. I have wanted this truck ever since seeing it on a dealer's lot in 99. Due to G.M. telling Isuzu to halt production at the end of the 01 model year, I was able to buy my dream truck for well under the 32 K sticker, along with 0.0 % financing. The Vehicross is a rare combination of speed (9 sec's 0-60, not bad), off-road capability (not that I would, but it's like a mountain goat in the snow), and head-turning, jaw-dropping good looks. I took off the tacky Isuzu logos ("debadging"), so now the question is always "What is it, is that an '03?" I intend to drive this truck for the next 6-7 years...my only worry is how to replace it? Hopefully the VX-02 concept car will be ready for me by then....

This is the best suv I had yet, we live in Oregon were it is wet everyday and when we take it in to the mountains, it just eats it all up. Snow cant even stop it. 3' of snow, no problem. the Cherokeeand Explorer had to be pulled up by this amazing suv and i got photos

This is the coolest SUV in the world! If your driving on the street and you see a mud pit, this truck takes it with ease, no worries. Don't think so? Come drive mine, and you'll fall in love with it. It also has two tone leather seats and carbon fiber. I own a 99 model, and will not own another SUV other than a Isuzu Vehicross. I've very proud of this truck, and it shows. I've added a 3 inch suspension kit and red flames. When you buy this truck you'll go nuts!

The Isuzu VehiCross is one the bad'es SUV that's out there and so much and fast as hell. And planing to buy a 2nd Isuzu VehiCross pretty soon after I get done with the hooking it up like a FAST SON OF B_ TCH. If you have a Isuzu vehiCross, put a FLOW MASTER IN IT AND REMEMBER ONE THING, DO YOU FEEL ExTREME.
