recommend? i already bought 7 for my family.
man, this is a real car!
a person who doesnt like 4wd vehicles would still like it once they see it and drive it. really, i wasnt a 4wd person, but until i saw it, it was my dream, i saw it on the internet and it was like love at first site.
it was beautiful. the acceleration was wonderful for its class, and the fact that it is an all terrain vehicle gives me the secure and "i can go anywhere and do anything" kind of feeling.
this is the next future car, the styling is great and the features of this mini ute, its just great. i think everybody should own one for the whole family, dont buy one of those big bulky gass guzzlers, that barely get double digit gas mileage, this suv has wonderful gas mileage, it gets 17mpg and 20 on the highway. my mercedes can barely manage that much!
people, get this car, it is wonderful,if you have any questions, email me at frisco_86@hotmail.com

Strength:

- Build quality.
- Design and execution.
- Interior design. It may not have every bell, buzzer, and whistle that
the ultra-high-priced-spread offers...but I can't think of anything I
want that it doesn't have. And the best part is - it all came standard!

Weakness:

If I hear one more person complain about the back window, I'm gonna puke. There is nothing wrong with the back window.

Trucks ALL have limited rear view capabilities....use your side mirrors, Ladies!! I rather LIKE that back window. It is fitting that a unique truck would also have a unique rear window.

Probably the best and most fun car/truck I have ever driven. Absolutely reliable. Goes anywhere, does anything, wants to do it again!

If this thing was any more fun, I'd want to be buried in it!!!

Highly recommended!!!!

There is nothing at any price that compares. I agree with the fellow below, who needs a Hummer???

My most recent other vehicle was a Ford. After some of the really sleazy and awful antics I suffered at the hands of Ford dealers, it was SO nice being treated like a real human being by Isuzu!!! Almost restores a persons' faith in dealers and salesmen. (I dont work for Isuzu either)

Where to begin? When did an Isuzu learn how to drive so well? Power is always adequate, handling is firm, and I like to feel the road when I drive. The styling turns heads where ever it goes, my friends just can't get enough of it. Standard features list is very lenghty for a car of this price.

Weakness:

Poor rear visibility is easily corrected with fish eye mirrors.

Simply the best vehicle I have ever owned. I would recomend this to anyone who doesnt mind coming back to fingerprints on the windows when they leave it in the parking lot!

EVERYTHING! What more can I say. Sport car / SUV, in one COOL package.

Weakness:

As everyone else has said, would be nice to have a built-in camera for the rear view. This was available in the Europian model. Although you can buy a camera an LCD screen for around $499.

After driving my Xterra for over a year, then getting my VX, what can I say. There is now compairsion. This truly a Sport car / SUV. This thing was designed for me. I like to be different and with my new VX, I fit the bill. I do have 3 kids, but only take the 2 girls 90% of the time. They too, love sitting in the back and all the looks we get. My wife likes the front, but dosen't like getting in the back. She's 6' and getting in the back, is not for the tall people. So, I gave up 4 doors, towing (have a camper, now will just use my brother-in-laws truck when needed), seating for 5, and I have NEVER LOOKED BACK!!! If you can, you GOTTA GET ONE.

I traded in my 2000 Xterra. Had it 18 months, with 41,000 miles on it. I did love the Xterra but my wife picked it out, then after 6 months, gave it to me. She wanted a sportier car with better gas mileage, she puts 500 miles a week comuting to work.

Everything.

Weakness:

Didn't come with the rear-view camera (in Japan it did)
No towing ablilty (yet?)

I owned an 1998.5 SVT Contour which I thought was real nice until I drove this fantastic machine. No other SUV takes off like this and the turning radius is unbelieveable. And no you have not ever sat in a Rocaro (spelling?) seat and probably will never again. 0% financing is nice and so are the numerous warrenties ranging from 70k to 120k.

Everything from looks to power! Offroading is the best with soooo much control! Others just slogg around while this little truck tackles the most difficult effortlessly!

Weakness:

Aftermarket aids like small round mirrors to help blind spots is all that's really needed!

Love this truck! There are people who like to put it down cause they have no other life. Pity! But this truck is HOT! Impressive off-road as well as on-road! Excellent craftmanship and durability! Highly recommended to anyone who wants to be someone rather than be like others!

Strength:

Where do I start?
* Looks, looks, looks. The truck looks awesome!! The looks it gets are awesome!! There is not a day gone by that I don't see someone gawking.
* Engine, the 3.5l V6 has fantastic acceleration. When I'm in one of those don't mess with me moods, it's a blast to humiliate most all other vehicles on the road. You get to see all those jaws dropping in the rear view mirrors. Fuel mileage is pretty good too, I average 17-18mpg and I never worry about "nursing" it. The engine is very quiet at normal operation with an authoritative, throaty, growl on heavy accelerations. It does feel a little thrashy at high RPMs but, not overly.
* Handling is perfect. (It's an SUV!)
* Exterior body and cladding is just COOL! The big 18" 5 spoke chrome wheels and the 245/60/18 tires match up perfectly. The tires aren't the best for off-roading but are a great dual purpose compromise. The headlights use the European beam "Z" pattern and provide a well lit view of the road. I don't quite understand the little "horn" marker lights nor the grille "fangs" but, they DO go along with the design scheme of this LITTLE DEVIL! The rear wing does an terrific job of keeping the rear window clear without the use of a wiper.
* Interior is very roomy, and the "Thunder grey and Black" combo is quiet civil. The Recaro seats are wonderful! Even though they are not the typical 6 billion way adjustable, heated, lift you in, throw you out and drink your coffee for you seat that you find on most other high end SUV's. I say, who needs them? These seats are more comfortable than most I've sat in no matter how adjustable. Yes the back seats are hard to get into unless you are a stick figure but, hey, who knew ISUZU had a sense of humor. I sure get a kick watching people getting in and out;) When the rear seat is folded forward or even better when you take it out, the storage capacity is great! The cargo net (I have multiple) helps keep everything still. Ok, it won't hold a 4x8 sheet of plywood but, that's what home delivery is for! Some people may complain that there is no soft, cushy, vinyl or leather padding on the door panels but, there won't be any cracks, tears or worrying either. The instruments are very easy to read albeit, there is not a lot of guages there is enough. The leather covered Momo steering wheel is the perfect diameter with a big, thick, pliable rim for gripping.
*AM/FM cassette stereo sounds great, could use a little more bass at lower volumes. I guess a sub-woofer gets put on my wish list. The 6 disc changer
works great although, a little slow when changing discs. The convenience of having it in the dash makes music life very easy.
*Very LIMITED production!!!!
I could go on for ever!!

Weakness:

*Lack of power gadgets. (I'm not sure that is a weakness though. At least there is less things to wrong and I can add what I want, not what the manufacturer thinks I should have)
*Rear view. (Minor complaint)
*Rough ride. (Wife's complaint)
*Low roof line at the windshield. (That's what I get for being 6'3")
*No glove box light.
*Rear seat set up. They don't fold up out of the way, they just fold forward.

I drove sports cars all of my life. I wanted to get a 4X4 truck (For camping and off-roading) but, I didn't want to have 2 vehicles. I just can't give up the performance of the sports cars. Along came the VehiCROSS, and I now have the best of both worlds. The transition from my Integra to the VX was so painless, I forget that I'm driving a truck!
It definately is not a practical family vehicle, neither is a 'Vette. If you are looking for a fun to drive, multi purpose SUV and don't have a lot of extra baggage, (kids, car seats, 4x8 sheets of plywood, etc.) and love to be stared at, the VehiCROSS is for you!
I liked it so much, the 2000 is my second VX, I had a '99!

Strength:

Outstanding sports car type handling and performance (on and off road) along with unique exterior and interior looks that don't get lost in the crowd. Took it into snow and ice for the first time yesterday (31 December 2000) and was very pleased with its sure footed feel.

Weakness:

I would like the option to manually engage and disengage the TOD 4x4 system. Back seat access requires agility.

The VX is the ideal vehicle for adventurous individuals that enjoy driving on and off road in a sporty set of wheels that stand out from the crowd. The VX is not for people that prefer to look like everybody else on the road.

Similar Products Used:

I've owned a Dodge Durango, Isuzu Rodeo and Isuzu Trooper. The VX is by far the sportiest of them all, in looks and performance. Though, the other three offered more interior space.

styling is awesome. great acceleration. torque-on-demand. recaro seats. 6 cd in dash cd player. ground clearance. handling

Weakness:

the rear-view is a pain but by using the side mirrors it is managable. i would like to know if they will ever get those tv camera things for the rear-view cause that would really help. gas mileage isnt great but not a big problem. it is an suv after all. getting in the back seat is an adventure i would recommend getting a vx-4 when those come out if anyone reading this is buying a vx. i dont like how u have to use a key to open the backdoor.

it would definetly recommed this car to anyone who likes to stand out and be differant. u will definetly get looks driving this car, some good and some bad. it really doesnt bother me cause i think the car is kick ass. i havent tried it off road but from what i have heard it seems to be very good so if that why u would buy this car then go for it.

Strength:

Incredible handling and power in an SUV body.
Great ground clearance without that 'leaning turn'.
Styling that is second to none, inside and out.
Recaro seats are the BEST. Nothing is more comfortable.

Weakness:

Wish the seat was lower, or the roof was a little higher.
Needs to have that rear-view camera standard on American model.
Needs to have a handle to open the rear hatch without the key.
It could be easier to get into the rear seat.
Where does all the gas go?

I DEFINITELY recommend the VehiCROSS.
It is THE Sports Car / SUV hybrid.

If you want a drive to work/play SUV, and you do not need to carry
enormous quantities of people/stuff around, it is perfect.
Everyone comments on it; the stares never end. It has the best
handling I've ever seen in an SUV, and I've driven dozens of different
models. It is bigger on the interior than it looks. I'm 6'1", 220+,
and I have plenty of room. :)

If you need to carry a family in it, or carry around tons o' stuff,
I'd say this is NOT the vehicle for you. :(
(My wife drives the SLX now, so when we go anywhere as a family,
we drive it and the VehiCROSS stays home.)

My value rating would be over 5 stars, as I bought mine used
with 6k miles on it - at $1000 less than WHOLESALE. (Yes, I'm proud!)

Similar Products Used:

I've owned a Dodge Durango and an Acura SLX, and the VehiCROSS
blows them both away in handling, comfort, and styling. Only
the Durango's 5.2L V8 has more power, and not much more at that
when you consider the weight difference.
