Strength:

None

Weakness:

Gas guzzler, rough ride, everything about it

The veichle was a problem ever since I got it. I had problems with the air suspension going out while traveling. Cost 4000 to repair. It over heats while sitting in line. Dealer had no fix. Air is going out. Ride is rough. Gas guzzler by far the worst of any automobile on the road. I would not recomend this truck to anyone. I will never purchase a land rover again.

Strength:

Roomy, leather, great stereo, lots of visibility, AWD system that is up to date and bullit proof. Gives a commanding view of the road and is a great long distance hauler as well as wonderful on the sands here on Pleasure Island.

Weakness:

Gas mileage is 17.5 highway....hubby is working on that. Off road...who cares. This thing gets you there no matter what the conditions.

Tall, stately; with a touch of British arrogance.
The vehicle was traded in on a new Chevy Suburban. It has lots of little "problems" which made it no longer attractive to its old owner.
Domestic car dealers also do not want to have the hassles of marketing these vehicles so getting a good deal is very easy.
My husband is a "car nut" and within 2 weeks had repaired everything...mostly hoses, vaccum supplies, low fluid levels, electrical gremlins and the like...all British trademarks.
I am involved in the loggerhead turtle project on Pleasure island, NC. This vehicle gets me to the nests with never a concern that the sand will be too deep or the tide too high.

Strength:

Solid performer on and off road. Great city vehicle (Houston potholes!). Even better on the open freeway. Sublime when in difficult terrain. Very comfortable ride. Superb line of sight.

Weakness:

Alternator has failed five times, now have an Italian unit which costs more but promises to last (fingers crossed!). Early years under warranty got all the bugs fixed at no cost. dealer had free loaner program which is important!

I have owned this Classic-styled Range Rover since buying it new in 1992. It has around 90,000 miles on the odometer. I have no intention of letting this vehicle go - it is now our second car and its use will become more limited as the years go by. Even so, its off-road capabilities will be tested whenever we have the chance. Unlike most of its model type, our Rover has been exercised and has never come up wanting. We have taken it to 13,000ft in Colorado and have traveled the length of Padre Island (Tx) national seashore several times. Both are true tests of a SUV's capabilities. The vehicle has had a few problems, mostly to do with the alternator, but I now use a local shop who boast more years experience than the dealership and this is important, IMO.

I have driven a range of off road vehicles in Africa and Asia. The Range Rover beats them all for sheer all round comfort and capability. Particular models include Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota Landcruiser, Land Rover Discovery, Land Rover Defender 110

Model Reviewed: Range Rover Customized by TMC

Strength:

Looks, Interior, Seats very comfy, driver's controls, except 4x4 or course...

Weakness:

mpg, handling is sloppy, can't go offroad, seatbelts come unbuckled occasionally.

The car not what I expected when I forked over my 88 grand. It was completely "redone" by TMC. So this may not be a valid review. The factory engine was replaced with a vortec v8. This vehical is a 4x4 but beleive it or now i cannot ingage the 4x4 becaause the dash was removed and a new one installed, when this was done.. those guys at TMC forgot...??? to keep the 4x4 switch on the controls. So I can't really go offroad so i don't know how it works. The factory bose stereo was removed and a kenwood 6000 watt aftermarket was put in. The bass is excellent and it has a total of 8 speakers so it sounds great. The gas milage is awful, about 10mpg city. I wasn't sure what to expect when i bought because it was customized but it worsened it severley. Handling is verey sloppy, "clunky" tansmission, it feels like a manual when it shifts, but its an automatic...

Model Reviewed: Range Rover 4.6

Strength:

Offroad capabilities if need be. Very hot girls like range rovers, that is also another reson why I drive two of them. It is a very cool truck. There is no other car I would rather pull up to a stop light in than a range rover.

Weakness:

The only weakness I can say for this car is the amount of things that can go wrong with them. There is big money to be spent if you buy a rover out of warranty, so be warned. But if you can spend over 100 grand for 2 cars the repair bills are not a problem.

This car is awesome, simply put. I also own a 1995 4.0. The 4.6 is worth the extra money. I can really see a difference in many areas. There is no comparison to any other SUV on the market. I could afford a hummer, but the range rover is a nicer car. Most people who drop over 60 grand for a car are not going to take it offroad, but I take my 4.0 offroad all of the time and it performs like a champ. So to those people who claim a jeep is better offroad, sorry but it is not. I have gone through many areas and have left many jeeps behind. The range rover commands respect onroad and offroad. This is one of the most awesome machines ever built. I will be a range rover customer forever.
