Strength:

Impeccable horsepower, smooth drive, groovy sound system, uncomplicated controls and spacious interior.

Weakness:

Only uses premium unleaded gasoline.

In general, the Aviator is an excellent vehicle. As an unattached person who is always carousing with my friends on the beach in Fort Lauderdale and Miami area, the Aviator has elegance, comfort and an exceptional performance. After 6 months with my 2004 Cadillac SRX, I traded it in for a new Aviator and I absolutely have no remorse. Personally, it’s the best midsize SUV and inexpensive for what it has to offer.

Strength:

Extreme comfort on long drives. Great sound system, nice and roomy except for third row seating which we never use anyway.

Weakness:

Uses premium unleaded instead of regular unleaded. On our long road trips, we averaged about 16 mpg which is not bad for a vehicle of this weight and engine size. It would have been nice if Ford had engineered the engine to use regular unleaded like the Mercury and Ford counterparts.

Overall a very nice vehicle. I traded in a low-mileage Explorer which we seldom drove due to lack of comfort. We have made two road trips in the Aviator, first to Savannah, Georgia in April and then to Las Vegas, Nevada in November. Very, very comfortable on long drives. The vehicle has developed a loud whine in the rear end which the dealer keeps telling me they are working on. He tells me several other Aviators he has sold have developed the same problem. Last time I heard that noise I had a very costly rear-end replacement in my daughter's Ford Mustang. It sounds like they have mis-matched the ring gears back there. The dealer has not shown much enthusiasm for getting this fixed. I finally called Lincoln in desparation and after wading through the automatic voicemails, got a real live person who happened to be located in New Delhi, India. Difficult to understand, but he did confirm that Ford is aware of the problem and engineers are working on a fix. Other than this one problem we are pleased with the vehicle.

Strength:

Classy looking, Very fast for a V8, handles well, quiet, great stereo

Weakness:

No one mentioned this in all of the reviews, there is no cargo cover to cover up your things. $45000 car, and no $30 cargo cover. Doesn't make any sense. There is a place and cutouts for one. If I had known this, I would not have purchased this car. I have contaced Ford-Lincoln-Mercury, and they don't even seemed concerned. Hope they have them soon, as I really love this car.

Was not even shopping for a car. I owned a 2002 Toyota Sequoia and traded it in for the Aviator. The ride is great, comfortable, and quiet. I was always taking in my Sequoia for brakes, seat issues, Stereo issues, Air Conditioner. You name it. Hard to park, and see when backing up.

Strength:

Horse power. Passenger capacity. handling. Climate controls. Cargo space. Look and feel. Moon roof! DVD system. It is just great!

Weakness:

Light colored interior hard to keep clean with kids. Gas milage (I would not be caught dead driving a Mini-Van so this was my only other option!)

I love this! I need to cart myself, my two kids, my girl friend, and her three kids around. The 3rd seat is perfect for kids and I have had my entire department in this car and they were comfortable. I get a lot of looks with this car. The 302 Hp V8 is great! I can easily make a night on the town in luxury and then head off to the hills with popup in tow for a weekend in the hills! I love this car! The drive is smooth and it hadnles very well. It is so quiet! It is not so imposing like the Navigator or Suburban, but meets many of my hauling needs. The climate control and everything is great! The AC/Heated seats are great! The controls on the wheel make things real easy. The seats are easy to reconfigure and easily fold away for maximum carrying capacity. It is really easy to pack 5 kids into it, toss in a DVD and make a long haul trip without even a peep from them!

Strength:

Agile, confident handling. 302 horsepower engine is a real treat. Abundant luxury features and great styling. Heated AND COOLED seats!

Weakness:

Light grey interior shows dirt.

This is a special SUV. Explorer-sized but VERY luxurious and tasteful. The interior is very high-end in appearance and luxury. Best feature is 302 HP engine; 0-60 in 7.4 seconds! Handling also quite nimble for SUV. Neighbors and friends who have seen it are very impressed and there aren't many on the road yet. There is room for negotiation with the somewhat high sticker price.

Strength:

Front bucket seats are very nice, the controls on the steering wheel are very helpful and useful. You can change the a/c and fan with them. Not really anything to complain about

Weakness:

The only weaknesss could be the 3rd row seating, it is fine if your a young kid, but other than that its not a good idea to sit back there, pretty squished.

This is a great Luxury SUV, if you want something like the ford explorer, but a lot nicer this is your best choice. I purchased the vehicle about 3 months ago and I love it. No problems at all, the ride is smoothe and peaceful. There is plenty of space everywhere, except if your a grown man and want to sit in the 3rd row. I love the 302 hp it is great. Also, this is a great suv because its not incredibly huge, it still is not the greatest on gas but what would you expect with 302 hp? Not to many people have these and you'll get alot of looks, It's a great investment.
