Strength:

Design, build quality, safety & durability. One of the best car audio systems available.

Weakness:

Fuel consumption, the 3.2 six cylinder engine should produce more power than the 238 h.p available

The Volvo xc90 is one of the best suvs available in the market today, the subtle scandinavian design, plus the interior layout of this vehicle puts it far ahead of the competitors. Volvos are famous for their safety, durability and building qualities. If you are looking for muscles and performance, look some where else. This matured suv is made for quality oriented people who value design and reliability. The premium sound system, 12 Dynaudio speaker (optional) is one of the best audio systems installed in any car any where any time.

Blind spots, dependability.

I bought this SUV and have had NOTHING but problems with it. I figured it was a volvo and they are bullet proof. Well my car was taken into the shop on 3 occassions aregarding the check engine light, I was told it was nothing. Now that I am out of warrently not only with Normwagner, but with Volvo. My engine blew and now I have had it in the shop 3 months to replace it. I was sold a vehicle that had previous engine issues,I did all of the required maintance and a vehicle of this price and endurance shouldn;'t have blown the engine at 51,000 miles. I can't want to get rid of this piece of crap. Its beutiful to look at but I feel if your going to spend that kind of money get some more durable.

Strength:

Spacious, drive like a car.

Weakness:

Replaced wheel bearing 3 times, transmission, shaft drive, tie rods 2 times, spent 3 weeks at the dealer for an electrical issue, 2 recalls, even the wiper arms had to be replaced, on top of all the rattles and little things. It just never stops.

Worst piece of crap i have ever had, the car has spent 15 weeks a the dealer in 30 months, on top of bad service, the only thing Volvo could say about this is: Buy the extebded waranty. Its sad to see a good brand like Volvo fall like a rock after Ford bought them.

Model Reviewed: VOLVO XC90 T6

Strength:

Rock solid ride at 80+ MPH. Excellent visability from drivers seat. Great sound system. Outstanding comfort. Good looks.
Most cargo capacity it its class, 93 cubic feet with the back seats down; almost twice as much as some others and of course, the highest safety rating in its class since its introduction.

Weakness:

Heavy vehicle. Only 14,000 miles on first set of Pirelli tires. Mostly city driving-approximatley 12-14 mpg. Somewhat bouncy ride due to higher center of gravity yet not unacceptable.

We've owned Volvo's since 1978. All have been reliable, dependable and long lasting if maintained properly. Couldn't wait for Volvo's first SUV and its proven to as good as I expected. The ride is rock solid especially at high speed. Handling is quick and positive.
The T6 is a powerful engine and somewhat of a gas hog. No major complaints after 30,000 miles. Some minor warrenty work;
broken engine mount, most likely from the high torque. Front brakes and rotors at 25,000 miles and not unexpected. Volvo's traditionally have softer pads and rotors; that's why they stop so quickly.
Other routine maintainence, filters and such. No major problems. A world class vehicle with outstanding comfort and safety with excellent power. The 13 speaker 300 watt sound system is great.
All in all one of the best vehicles I've owned. I bought it with most all the options. The only thing I would add would be the rear assist parking. Would be helpful in tight parking spaces.

Model Reviewed: V8 AWD w/ 7 seats, heated seats/mirrows, 300Wts stereo, leather seating, power driver/pass seats

Strength:

Power, handling, good sound

Weakness:

SUV's fuel economy

The V8 model is an excellent car/SUV -that's right: it is an SUV that drives/handles like a luxury sedan. V8 comes standard w/ AWD, 7 seats, leather seating. Ours is late 2005 model w/ park assist, folding mirrors, auto dimming rear view mirror, premium stereo, heated seats/mirrors, xenon Headlights. It drives and handles better then most of mid-size sedans (well, not including BMW, Acura, Infinity), but at same time offers great road view, the ride is very good combo of comfort and road feeling, very good handling in turns/quick line change on a highway. We test drove RX330 and chose Volvo. Very good ergonomics-everything within reach. 7 seats is a good option -last row seats as comfy as the fronts, led room is less, but you can move middle row seats forward to accommodate last row's passengers.
