Ford F-150 (2010 and older) Trucks | Vans

DESCRIPTION

The Ford F-150 pickup can haul more cargo and tow a heavier trailer than any of its competitors. And with a fully boxed frame, the F-150 has the strongest chassis in its class. Engineered and tested to withstand more punishment than your most difficult tasks, the F-150 is Built Ford Tough to come through with the dependability you expect in this full-size pickup.

The current F-150 does come in a host of cab, bed, powertrain, and suspension variations; there are three cab configurations with multiple wheelbases and box lengths each, providing choices to satisfy just about any trucker's need with the F-150. Properly outfitted, the F-150 can tow 10,700 pounds--while earning five-star frontal crash-test scores. A choice of V-8 engines comes with either four- or six-speed automatic transmissions, but no V-6 engine option is offered.

Best in every aspect compered to any other truck.

Weakness:

What weaknesses....... Ford dosent have them

Ford is the very best truck on the market. And with improved power on the
way it will even be built more FORD TOUGH. The powerstoke diesel is the best diesel on the market, and is expected to have 305 horsepower, and 550 ft,pounds of tourqe for the 2003 model year. Gas engines also expected to rise to over 300 horsepower and have improved tourqe.

Strength:

Amazing payload and trailering power for the size.
Fantastic braking under all condition,
Super engine cooling in our hot climate.

Weakness:

Ford extended cab offers limited space for back seat riders.

First Ford product owned, and after one year of use this little pick up still impress me. With the 5.4 and a 3.73 rear end and all the upgrade that come with the 7700 option, it is a real powerhouse. When I went to buy a new pick up, I was going to buy a 250, but my wife looked at it and tought it was too big and noisy. The dealer suggested the 150-option 7700.
I reviewed the specs and bought it. The payload, the trailering power and the overall smothness of this pick up makes it top of class by FAR.
I call her " the little giant!" I used to own a Chev 2500, this one is stronger and smother, and has a lot more braking power under loading condition.

I have owned a Chev Silverado 2500 for 7 years prior to this Ford.
The Ford 150-7700 leads the way in all aspects except for the back seat leg room

I never thought I would buy a Ford truck after a Ranger I had several years back. I have to say this is the best truck so far that I have owned.

I traded a 99 Tacoma xtracab V6 4WD for this truck and there is no comparison. I was not happy with the Tacoma at all. I cant see how Toyota builds a truck this expensive and you cant haul anything without the rear suspension bottoming out.

The F150 is by far the best truck I have driven and owned. Just hope it stays that way. Mine has the 4.6 and I am averaging 16-17 mpg. Does anyone know if there is a chip for this engine to give it a little more grunt. I dont haul much but would like a little more power. I wanted the 5.4L but the deal I got on this truck I could not pass it up. Kudos to Ford for a truck well made. This thing is like a Limo compared to the Toyota.

Strength:

Styling, ride, towing power.

Weakness:

Minor problems only, a few pesky recalls that were taken care of during rountine mantaince visits to the dealer. Biggest thing that bugs me is the door skins cracking from putting the windows up and down. Check out any 97 to 01 F-150 you see and you will see a small hairline crack at the rear bottom corner of the window, and ford dosent have a fix. Power steering pump went out at 35,350 miles, lucky timing for me!
Power band on 5.4 is at the higher rpm's which has been improved on 99 and newer trucks.
Concerened about recent offset crash rating, but wonder how the compare to the 97 and 98 3 door cabs.

Love the truck! Got 56 K on it and it is running strong. Perfect for me and my family. Tows a 32 foot travel trailer ok, but would go for super duty if I towed it more often than I do. Tows a 20 foot boat as if it wasnt even there.

Similar Products Used:

88 F-250, 97 Silverado. Blows both of them away on looks, power and economey.

Strength:

Great interior layout, excellent handling, and remarkable styling for a truck.

Weakness:

A little dissapointed with the maximum trailer towing rating should be closer to 4000 pounds even with a V6 and 5 speed. Something for Ford to work on.

Well built truck with good power for a V6 and a friendly interior layout. Love all the cup holders and the fact most all types of cups fit.Rides like a dream does well in the mountains too.

Strength:

The main strength with this truck is the 300c.i. inline 6 engine with the manual 5 speed transmission this combanation is bullet proof. Engine and trans is in perfect working order.

Weakness:

The weakest part of this whole truck is Ford's crappy paint. It's been recalled and repainted only to lose it's paint again. Ford refuses to do anything about THERE CRAPPY PAINT JOBS. Hey Ford if you can't paint send it out to be done the right way then put your emblem on it. Face it Ford your paint just purely sucks butt.

This has been a very nice truck to drive. It has over 115000 miles on it and it still drives better than a new one today. Only problem was at 59600 miles the oil slinger went out on the rear end and Ford of Galveston,Texas replaced from hub to hub with all new equipment.

Do they make anything but a Ford truck? I mean a real honest to goodness last for 12 to 20 year truck. Na only Ford trucks do that. Sorry chevy and dodge you guys don't make it.
