Strength:

Nice looks

Weakness:

We have 25K on the truck and are ready to get rid of it, every time we use truck with 5wheel it overheats. I cannot even tell any more how many times the truck was in the shop. Tomorrow it is going again. Overheating, overheating.... overheating.
We get an average of 8.5 mgg, good that we put an additional fuel tank on the truck otherwise we would be at a truck stop every 250 miles.

Do not buy any truck the first year it comes out.

Strength:

good looking truck, plenty of power, aside from motor, no problems

Weakness:

engine is junk Ford should have done more test and should stand behind it better

Purchase 450 6.0 in Jan 2004 and dealer shorted me on purchase. In Sept with 44,000 engine overheated and had to be replaced. Vehicle down for 7 weeks. June 05, (8 months later) engine again overheated. So far they replaced egr cooler and put back together and now heads are bad so they have to go back in and replace heads. Now with 3000 miles left on warrantly I am worried how long the engine will last. Been on the phone with Ford in Detroit and am not optimistc. Also been in contact with an attorney and may go that route. When I purchase the vehicle I was hoping for 300,000 miles, now I have my doubts. Should have stayed with Dodge (291,000 miles) or gone with Chev. Any ideas or comments please advise. rpgens@hotmail.com

Strength:

Extremely durable. With proper maint. should last forever.

Weakness:

Ford dealerships, specifically service departments. Universally full of incompentents and liars. The 1994 referenced ran fine until a Ford mechanic replaced an injector, failed to remove residual oil, hydro-locked a cylinder and bent a connecting rod - then denied it!

This was an excellent truck until a Ford mechanic got his hand in it. Vehicle was equipped with a service body for use in my construction company. Truck was like all 25+ other Fords I have owned, ran every day thru use and abuse.
