Model Reviewed: 2500HD Ext. Cab

Strength:

Ride comfort and quietness of ride. Quieter than most cars inside.
Power 6.0 liter with Auto Trans pulls well, does wrap pretty tight when in tow/haul mode..but pulls well there.

Weakness:

Sound system... main problem is in cheap speakers...sure it'll play loud if you like people to sound like they are singing through a fan blade. The head unit is nice.. Other pickups listened to have had similar sound although some will play louder than mine before breaking up.
Interior fit and finish is not 100% kosher

Roomy, especially after having regular cab. Drive train seems to be well built but body sheet metal is very light weight. Interior fit and finish not super, headliner isn't tucked along rear window, not all door seals were correctly anchored. Pleanty of power, however GM is using more RPM than in years past to get it... shouldn't be a problem as these engines with todays lubricants seem to take it fine. ONE BIG WEAKNESS IS AN ELCRAPPO SET OF SPEAKERS. For 30 grand they should be top drawer quality.

Previous vehichle was 1994 Chevy 1500 which had a perfectly acceptable factory stereo. 100,000 plus on it meant time to trade while it still had value.
