Strength:

The air conditioner and the radio.

Weakness:

The transmission doesn't seem to know what RPM's to run in....It's just a poorly made vehicle.

This is a piece of crap. The ABS is out(now the light is on) and Isuzu refused to fix it when I only had 32,000 on it and had it 37 months. Said warranty had run out even though I took it there when I only had it for 32 months and 27,000 and told them something was wrong with the brakes,(no light was on) then when the ABS light came on 5 months later, they said the warranty was out. The delay windshield wipers crapped out, both vanity mirror covers fell off, the latch on the slidding back window fell off, the lock on the passanger side had to be fixed twice and it certainly has NO pick up getting on the expressway. I will NEVER buy a ISUZU AGAIN !!!!!oh yea, it had a bad tire and I had to take to a tire place to exchange it.

Strength:

gas mileage, xtra cab space, comfortable bucket seats.

Weakness:

36m/36k warranty is piss poor. all other weaknesses listed above

Ran good until the 3yr/36K warranty expired. Driver side mirror fell off at 29K miles. A/C, and driver seat adjustment handle broke at 37K miles, windshield wiper motor and gas gauge failed at 38K miles, timing chain broke at 41K miles. This piece of CRAP must've been assembled prior to a GM strike. I will never buy another Isuzu again!!! Be afraid....very afraid

Strength:

gas mileage, incredible when lowered/ fixed up, drives decent, easy maintenance, does fine in SE texas and Iceland. yes iceland!

Weakness:

mirors are weak, could use more horsepower w/ac on, from previous experience, dont bog down the engine w/ac on it might go out. Expensive to fix even doing it yourself. I learned from my mistake and it has been great ever since.

As long as you know how to drive a 4 cyl truck its great. I've put my little standard 5 speed truck through sandpits, mudpits, small rivers, beach, and many other things. Good thing its lite. At the same time I answer when it calls for routine maintenance. I maintain it properly. As long as you maintain it properly it will do fine. I bought it w/27k and now have 130k. It runs like a champ and gets great gas mileage. I rag it, but know its limits unlike some bad drivers. Basicly the truck is great if you know what your doing and dont think its a V-8. hinthint The way i drive i should have a v-6, but this will do. This truck is not a speed demon so dont treat it like one.

slow very slow

i bought my 97 hombre xs in 99 with 26000 miles on it. i can't say i really like the truck but it has been ok. i now have 110,000 miles on it. i had to have the head gasket replaced at about 75,000 miles to the tune of 1200.00 dollars but that is really all i've put into the truck. i service it every 3000 miles and have since i've owed it. the automatic 4 cyl is about as slow a vehicle as you will find anywhere but gas mileage is good. i guess the truck is sort of vanilla, it doesn't grab you but it isn't bad either

Strength:

It's got great gas mileage, you know for when it sits for those months on end you never have to worry about gas. You'll still have that full tank of gas from the last time it blew up on ya.

Weakness:

Well let me see.... let's put aside all that engine mumbo jombo, and get to the rest of the truck, i'ts hexed, hexed I tell you run, run far away. Two days after I bought it my drivers side mirror fell off, just fell off. My back sliding window latch fell off about a month or so later. About another I'd say four months my pasnger side view mirror fell to i's death on the freeway. My turn signals don't seem to want to work any more. I've checked the fuses and my dads checked the relays. Those went out the same time as my ac., it's fully charged and it has presure. you have to do some kind of combination lock thing on the switch for it to come on.

I bought my Isuzu with 30,000 miles on it. In the begining it ran great with no problems. After about a year I've had nothing but hardship with the dang thing. It sat for months on end with on problem after another. It seemed to me as if the dang thing just didn't want to be fixed, every time i would have one thing fixed something eles would need fixing. I do have to say though that I don't know for sure wether it's the truck it's self or the guy working on it. You see I'm a female and I've been riped off plenty of times at shops, so I'm pretty sure I don't want to try it again. So Ive been haveing family work on it for me.

Reliability - Value - Looks - Operating cost - Gas mileage - G.M.made

I do wish it had a little more power with the a/c running.

I really love my Hombre x/s. I now have 34,700 miles and have had it for over 3 years. This truck is just great.I did have to have the automatic transmission replaced @27k, but I love that Isuzu warranty, and the dealer/factory folks are great!

Strength:

Good mileage, and a nice ride for a small truck.

Weakness:

Power is only adequate.

I purchased my '96 Hombre XS used in '98 with 15k miles, and drive it 200 miles per day. I am nothing but pleased with it. I now have 178k on it, and have only had to replace the water pump. It still looks and runs like new. I do service it every 3k, and it has paid for itself many times over, in dependablity.

Strength:

Good gas mileage.Runs well.

Weakness:

Had to replace the spark plugs and wires at 35K,($90, hard to find) seem to be acting up again at 60K. Replaced the hood cable at 45K($15 easy to find)new cable not working already at 60K.

I purchased this vehicle new. I have only had a few problems with it but am overall happy with it. Not that useful of a truck since it is so small.
