Strength:

This truck has been very reliable-mainly because it's not a re-labeled Chevy like these new ones. Handles pretty will for a truck, and interior holds up well

Weakness:

It could use some more power, and the exterior paint loses it's luster after a few years.

If you're going to spend this much on a truck, you should get a Toyota. Their totally reliable, and hold up better than my red 4x4 Isuzu. Thanks.

It's just an average truck, not as good as a 80' Toyota, but better than a ranger.

Strength:

Nearly everything. Got a great deal, it looks good, runs great, gets 26-28 mpg, plenty comfortable for two people. No problems at all in 45,000 miles, some of it pretty hard going.

Weakness:

Cab's a little small (I'm 6'4", and I can drive it, but there's no place to put anything). Power (4-cyl) is only adequate.

I paid $7998 for mine, and I'd buy another one at that price in a second. I've heard of people paying as much as $13,000 for a similar truck, and that's getting pretty close to Toyota/Ranger territory. But I've had NO trouble.

Similar Products Used:

Toyota (better, but cost twice as much), F-150 (cost almost FOUR times as much, and gets half the mileage, plus big and awkward to drive).

Strength:

nothing

Weakness:

gutless, this truck is worthless,no payload capacity, with three people in the cab the front end dips, even with four wheel drive the damn thing scrapes on speed bumps, the manual transmission blew up at 10,000 miles, and the 4 cyl. engine threw a rod shortly after that.

Outrageous price compared to ford ranger. This is the worst truck I have ever owned. DONT BUY ONE !!!!! It is currently for sale and it is time to buy a FORD!

Strength:

Everything and more in a small pickup. Front end looks better than S-10. Awesome gas mileage. Nice ride for little truck.

Weakness:

Not a lot of power. Small cab.

The Hombre is the best, but most overlooked pickup. I would take it over its Chevy sibling because of looks and longer warranty. Bought the truck used and had for 3 years with no problems. The 4 cylinder is a bit noisy and underpowered but say hello to a gas pump only about once every two weeks. This truck does what it needs to and does it pretty dang well for the price. Not everyone and their grandma has one. Gets some looks at the local hardware store. There's a simple novelty, that when talking to others, is pointing to it and saying "the Hombre" that never wears off.

economy--get 22mpg w/fiberglass topper--price-lot less than chev S-10-basically same truck--looks better than S-10--better warranty--good overall quality bumper to bumper-best truck for the money to be found

Weakness:

would like more room in cab--need more comfortable seats--ride a little hard-better plan on keeping because of fast depreciation

love this truck-- 22,000 miles and plan on going many more--key is SERVICE--to dealer every 3,000 miles --oil-lube-filter

Strength:

Great gas mileage, good looks, and bullet-proof.

Weakness:

lacks some power, but what do you expect from a 4 cylinder? hard seats, no place to put cell phone and other things.

I have had this truck for a while now, and it has not had a single problem yet. I like the styling of it compared to the s-10. And dont go saying you'd rather buy an american made truck, because this has the exact same engine as the s-10. I used to have a 1989 chevy silverado. It was nice, but i was only averaging 10-14 mpg. With this i am averaging about 25-30. It also looks nice with dirt bikes in the back.

Similar Products Used:

1989 chevy silverado- the isuzu gets 2-3 times the gas mileage and actually fits in the garage. But you cant do much off-roading with it.

Strength:

The truck looks nice

Weakness:

truck has no pick up, we had to replace the engine after 50,000 miles, replaced the airconditioner (it's now broke again), we had to fix transmission (it's not broke again) the ABS system has a short in it & will cost 600.00 to replace. We recently got into a bad car accident & the airbag didn't deploy, and the whole front end of our truck was smashed in!! This is just a few of the things. It's like a disposable truck.

I have had nothing but problems with this truck once the 3 year warrenty ended. Once we fix something another thing breaks or needs to be replaced. This is THE worst automobile we have EVER owned!!
