Model Reviewed: 1999/Avantguard III

Strength:

Many features like, the self-powered siren, proximity sensor, night vision, remote starting, and remote bypass mode. Top of the line system that Clifford offered at the time.

Weakness:

I started having problems with the alarm after 3 years of use. I went to Car Stereo Plus and they took the alarm out and had it sent to DEI. SO far I have been without an alarm for 2 weeks. Car Stereo Plus sold me on extra features that already comes standard with the Avantguard III. Know what you are buying before going there to buy an alarm.

The alarm has many good features, the self-powered siren, proximity sensor, night vision, remote starting, and remote bypass mode. I like the remote start feature along with the window roll up/down feature that I had installed. I have had the alarm installed on my 1992 Acura Integra since July of 1999. The only problem is now after 3 years the Clifford Dealer told me that the brain and the supplementary module may be going out. Right now my alarm is being sent to DEI to get repaired. Also I have issues with the dealer that sold me the alarm. I was going to buy a lower model Clifford at first then I ended up buying the Avantguard III. Car Stereo Plus sold me on extra features that already comes standard with the Avantguard III. So I got ripped off on some features. Buyer beware, know what you are buying before going there to buy an alarm.
