Strength:

Cooling fans kept amp from overheating, and wire inputs were big enough for those using larger gauge wire.

Model Reviewed: 2001 Audiobahn 275HCX

Strength:

1 ohm stable, dual cooling fans, blue illumination looks cool at night and it has a fairly decent subsonic filter. The 4 gauge power connections and 8 gauge speaker connections are a plus also.

Weakness:

the bass boost seemed a little boomy and anything over 4-6db in boost only results in distortion. I had the fuses blow a couple of times but that was mainly because i had the amp on a wall behind my seat with the seat folded up but now i have it repositioned and it works perfect. And it sucks and extremely large amount of power.

i have used this amp for about 6 months and i originally had it running a 1 ohm on a pair of audiobahn awc10's and it blew the voice coils slam out of the speaker. Then i upgraded to 2 rockford he2 10's and oh my god. Extrememly good low bass recognition very pleased with it's performance. Runs stable at 1 ohm as long as it has adequate ventilation. It has protection which is nice but when it's in an enclosed area played for a while the fuses will blow. After about 2 months it blew the rockfords and now i have it 2 diamond audio cm3 10's in slot port boxes and and the last show i hit 149.6! Yea it kinda surprised me too. Very good amp can run almost any ohm load with good ventilation. In other word don't close the amp up in the trunk without opening the seat.

Strength:

Meters proved helpful to see how much power was actually being used...Cooling fans kept amp from overheating, and wire inputs were big enough for those using larger gauge wire...

Weakness:

If, for some reason, something were to come loose, I had difficulties starting it up again. It has all the protections on it so you don't spike it, and sometimes it is a pain to reset if it is necissary

Very please with this product. It maintained extremely good sound, and never posed much of a problem. I recommend this amp for anyone that wants enough power to make a statement, but is subtle enough to keep you from having to get a cap...Very good product for someone looking to spend a little less and get excellent, excellent results...

I used an older Audiobahn amp, but I didn't feel that it competed with the A275HCX...
