Model Reviewed: TDB 475

Strength:

Sound quality!

Weakness:

6SL7 tubes are more expensive compared to the 12AX7 tubes in my US amps TU4360.

I am using TDB 475 to drive my front componets. 8" dyna audio midrange, CDT ES-01 tweeter, CDT DRT-25 tweeter, CDT 560I crossover.I also use a US Amp TU 4360 to drive two 6x9 elclipse point source rear speakers. Both amps are bridged, Monster cable XLN pro interconnects,Monster cable speaker wire, Fosgate 4 guage amp kit, is used to connect both amps to my system. This amp is very smooth and detailed, bass is deep and quick, low noise floor. Smooth jazz sounds very similar to my home tube amps! Sounds great playing Sonny Rollins or Queen. High notes are much cleaner compared to the US amps TU4360, bass is about equal, overall I prefer the TDB475 it has more inner detail and better sounding highs.I am only comparing this amp to my other tube amp which happens to be a US amps TU4360 which is a fine amp in its own right and about three hundred dollars less than the TDB 475. Do I think the TDB 475 is worth the extra cash ABSOLUTELY!
