Clarion APX400.4 Amplifiers

Clarion APX400.4 Amplifiers

DESCRIPTION

The Big Story in amplifiers is the Power System of amps. The Power System models were designed and engineered in the U.S. to work together with our processors and create that big, gutsy, low-end, distinctively American sound. So, even when heavily loaded, sound character stays smooth, full, and well-defined. Clarion's Bass Extender Control is also included in each of their amps, and provides up to 12 dB of boost, centered at 45Hz with a relatively low Q.

Model Reviewed: APX400.4

Strength:

Price - they have now gone down in retail price from 799 to 499 as they are last years model now but have very little difference to the 2003/04 model.

Weakness:

Take 40amps to power, meaning if I leave the system on for to long when parked I aint going nowhere.

Greatest purchase I have made for my all clarion stereo. It has great output and many things to play with. I have 2 in my car, both powering my dual coil 12" subwoofer and one powering my 2 front door speakers, the other bridged to power my other 12" Sub. The system rattles my little Mazda 626 and sounds brilliant. You can hear it from a mile away at a fair price.
