Strength:

he SPL12s are very versitile subs; they can be installed in ANY type of box with a huge range of size possibilities. They stand potential to be among the loudest subs on earth if used properly. They are very efficient subs, I know a couple people who ran them off 100 watts or so and they did just fine. J&M Windermere Towing

Strength:

However my 2001 and 2005 have virtually been trouble free. J D Power -- contrary to popular belief -- rated the Neon slighty ABOVE the Honda Civic for durability (both cars were not highly rated -- again something people are surprised to hear). fleet repair

Strength:

Great bang for your buck. Fully adjustable crossover. has been troublr free for the most part.

Weakness:

When it first arrived i had recieved one of the first of the 480Qe models off the assembly line. and unfortunealy it went into protect mode. so i called the manufacturer and they stated that it needed new resisters so they sent out some plans and the resistor requirments and i took it to the shop and they installed the new resistors and whala it has been pounding my truck for 1 year now trouble free

For what I paid this amp pounds pretty good. I push 2-10" alpine type r dual vioce coil subs in bridged mode which sound excellent at low and high levels. i have also used it for 2 jl audio 12"''w1 subs and they really pounded. the built in crossover works excellent and adds a lot of versatility to this amp. despite the amp needing bigger resistors and the inconveinance of it being in the shop for a week getting the resistors transplanted i would highly recomende this amp.

Strength:

very very powerfull amp and very clear.

Weakness:

could have hearing problems in very near future

I ve had this amp for a week and my ears r hurting every day cause of it. u will not find a better value for money anywhere in the world. iam running 2 6x9 pioneer 220watts 4ways and bridged a 12w3d2 jl sub at 4 ohms. this thing rocks my car and anything around it. and best of all it is crisp and the bass is tight.

Strength:

This amp is well built and doesn't overheat even in enclosed spaces, when wired right it can produce deafening power or quiet clean clear sound through whatever speakers you harness up to it. I have had experience with Kenwood amplifiers as well as Rockford Fosgate and a few others, and by far, this amp is one of the cleanest and strongest I have ever listened to.

Weakness:

Its a little large if you plan on mounting it in a small vehicle, I currently have mine mounted on the back wall inside the "trunk" of my 2000 Pontiac Firebird (It doesnt get in the way of TTop storage) and it fits like it was built to go there. For other applications a slightly smaller amplifier by coustic may be better, but other than that this amp is the best I've ever used.

I would definetly recommend this product for its use in any vehile in which it will fit. Right now none of the coustic amps are mail orderable, so you'll need to contact a local distributor of them. For my 60Wx4 @ 4Ohms 480QE Amp running me only $150 retail, I am very impressed with it, and I hope the readers of this article will go listen to a Coustic before buying anything else... By far this is a great amplifier!!!

Kenwood 45Wx4 Amp and a Rockford Fosgate 60Wx4... no comparison. After doing test benches on the Rockford I found they literally lied about their distrotion numbers, and Kenwood, while a good amp, is just too darned expensive for what you get. Most amplifer companies rate their amps at 2Ohms (close to a dead short if you ask me) so thats why they end up with a 120W or 200W per channel figure... Coustic rates their amp's power @ standard 4Ohm load, and from what I've tested on the bench appears to be about 30% conservative of what the true figure really is... (i.e. a 100W rating is actually ~130W).

Strength:

Excellent sound from an "econo" priced amp, because your not paying for the name. Loud and clear sound. Build quality seems above average. Good manual, easy to use, everything is clearly marked.

Weakness:

Large, but I figure that's to be expected with the power this thing puts out and I don't like the yellow.

Could have gotten this amp online for $200, but they wouldn't ship to an alternate address, so I spent more at my local shop, still, I'm really happy with this amp. It has all of the usual features for a 4-channel amplifier and is very easy to use and set up. It is big and makes it tight underneath the passenger seat of my Tacoma truck, but that is my only gripe with this product. It sounds awesome, I have it running 2 Infinity Kappa, 3-way coax's in the doors and bridged the rear channel to an Infinity Kappa 10" sub behind the bench seat. My truck gets so loud with no distortion. It doesn't seem to get too hot, even with the limited air flow under the seat.

Compared to a few of my friends systems that use Alpine V12'S, Autotek's, and RF Punch amps, it holds it's own.

Strength:

Integrated crossover, heavy weight (i just like it), not over sized like RF Punchs that have extra volume because of the heat dissipator

Weakness:

the surface seems to get too hot for me, definitely it is not for competence

Good for me, i'm using it in my ford ranger supercab, powering 2 Kenwood 6x9s 170 watts max, and a Kenwood SubW 12" 500w peak, 150w rms, sound is clear and without distortion, it is 60 watts x 4

Kenwood KAC-748 35w x 4 (almost same priced), i think it is most powerful and clean
