Strength:

Clean smooth quality sound with a freqency responce that sounds flat. Switchable adjustable active crossover operates across the four front chanells and can be used to knock off some of the bass to the front speakers. This makes the amp and speakers sound better cos the amp isnt wasting power producing bass the speakers cant reproduce well. There is also an ace adjustable 18db sub crosover, front to rear fader and sub level. The combination of sound quality and features make this an ace one amp solution for the price. Has proved very reliable over many years in 4 different vehicles. At £350, I dont think you could better it, at the £70 to £200 mark they now go for on E Bay they are a steal!

Weakness:

RCA conectors are flimsy when compared with likes of soundstream and a dodgy conection developing on one channel at this point has been my only trouble with this product. There is no input sensitivity adjustment. I dont know what the maximum input sensitivity is but while its fine with the 2.5 volts coming from my Rockford front end and 2v from previous Kenwood and Alpine units this amp was around at a time when 4v+ plus pre outs were very rare so though I dont know how it would cope with such loads I would not advise such a partnering. While driving a sub in bridged mode the bass goes real low it lacks a degree of control at very high volumes when compared with quality 2 or 1 channel amps that have a genuine 100watt + (RMS @4ohm 12volt) on tap. In addition the amp sounds warm and slightly veiled when compared with truly brilliant sounding car amps and good home hi fi separates. The difference is not great but is noticable with familiarity.

Used in full active system for powering mid bass/mids and tweets. Have tried various configurations including one amp solution powering sub in bridged mode/mids/and tweets using onboard crossovers to cut bass from mids and tweets and to set sub crossover level.
