Strength:

It was loud allright... with lots of distortion, 1% !! no not .1 or .01 (dream on) adjustable crossover, sturdy switches, pots were good, no scratchyness when turned to tune amp during playing never got hot

Weakness:

right channel on mine was probally putting out DC or more distortion than rated, fried 2 EX2500 tweeters, and almost fried my new Dx3065 componet set ! way too much distortion, gets loud, makes your ears ring, and empties out your wallet replacing speakers and crossovers

I paid $129.99 for the JBL I guess you could power a pair of 8's or 10's for mid bass or something in a smaller veh, not recommended for highs or clarity in a bass situation where distortion is inaudible to an extent, it would work fine

i've bought a MTX RT2120 and a RT2200 and i think both of them are worse than the JBL! yeah the MTX is smaller, but sounds even trashier than the JBL believe it or not

Strength:

doesn't get hot at all, puts out lots of CLEAN power, LOUD.

Weakness:

nothing.

I use this sub to power a 10" sub (ported box).
it puts out 180X1 @ 4 ohm in a bridged mode, and my sub is 8 ohm, although the sub gets half of the power it pound like crazy!
My car is shaking!
I would recommend this great amp for everyone! whether if it's for the highs or lows.
I think it would do a great work with highs as well!

Strength:

Puts out more power than it is rated...good subwoofer amp for a smaller system, great for powering 6x9s.

Weakness:

None that I have experienced.

I originally bought this amp to power a pair of 100w 6x9s, and it worked wonderfully....no distortion at high volumes, and crystal clear highs and mids. Moved on to power a 10" subwoofer with the amp bridged, and it puts out 180W power, and made the small sub thump quite well. Currently the amp is being used to power a pair of Infinity Kappa 6x9s, and does so wonderfully...the sound is so clear you would think you were at a concert.

Strength:

Power, price, connectors (24K gold plated)

Weakness:

none really , its not the prettiest amp out there, but who cares!!!

I bought it on clearance for a incredible low price, to power a 10" Fosgate sub in a sealed box. It rocks that sub and then some!!!! Damn it is powerful!!!! Puts out way more power than it lists

Strength:

Strong amp for tight budget. If you pay less then $120, you got a deal.

Weakness:

Did not have a fan, Crossover is hard to adjust or see in certain installs. The amp gets hot under 4 ohms.

This amp is not for extreme bass heads. You will not hit 130db bass lines. If you listen to Industrial, Bass Rap, or Techno you may need to adjust your listening or go elsewhere. Rock, Country, and most other music sounds great on my set up.
I have mine wired as follows.
Both channels hooked up to a 12in JL Audio W-6, using 8 guage wire for the sub and 4 guage up to the distribution block where it splits to a cap followed by the LC-A752 on one side. On the other side will soon be a JBL GTQ190, after I get around to installing it. My amp ground runs through the cap (I really recommend this type of ground). I have the gain at 80% and the crossover at 100Hz Low pass.
I played with the set up for a while until I settled on this one. When listening to heavy bass I am forced to turn the bass to 0 on a -7 to +7 scale and lower the volume to 25 on a 0 to 35 scale to keep the amp from shutting off. I still thump a lot in this set up. Volume at 25 is loud and ear itching, but never the less I want more volume even in 100 degree Jacksonville weather. I have decided to upgrade soon, most likly to a monoblock with a fan if possible. I payed $60 (shipping already included) for this amp and I would have given twice that for what I got in quality.
Prior to this amp in this set up, I had an Alpine MRV-T500. At first on two W-6 12's and then I down graded to just one at 3 ohms. I fried the Alpine on the single sub after a week. My review on the Alpine is in the V-12 section if you want to see what I was running before it died. I still like Alpine, but I am sure I had a lemon. The JBL was a backup amp and it has worked fine. Buy one cheap. They are good for the money. I may sell mine in a few months if I find a monoblock that I just can't live without.

Similar Products Used:

It is top of its class is midgrade amps, ie. Profile, Crunch, Alpine Flex series, some Kenwood, and many Sony amps. Not in same league with Alpine V-12 series, MTX, MMATS, or upper grade Rockfords.
