Strength:

RIPS (regulated intelligent power supply) Gives you the power you paid for every time form 1.5-4 ohms and 3-8 ohms (brigged) anywere form 11V-14.5 Volts. Also all the controls, RCA inputs, power, ground and remote wires are all on the same side which make this amp super easy to mount where I needed to put it. It is completely out of sight.

Weakness:

None In my case.

I bought a JL 300/4 to put together a small and simple SQ system, I don't compete and I just want something to enjoy my everyday driving. The 300/4 is running a set of infinity 605cs components up front and the rear channels are briged and running a JL 10W0 in a .75 ft^3 sealed box. All I have to say is that this amp sounds incredible. My system will play much louder than I can possibly tolerate with stunning clarity. I shopped around quite a bit and I came to decide on the 300/4 because it fit the bill perfectly for me. I previously had an ALPINE V12 MRV-T503 that was rated at 82W rms @ 12V , I had the Alpine running the 10W0 before and it was supposed to do 300W rms, All I have to say is that the sub sounds way better with the 150W rms it's getting from the 300/4. The bass is crisper and much more defined and will actually play louder with the JL 300/4, the Alpine sounded a bit muddy to me at higher volume. This comparison was with the same deck and sub. This lead me to beleive that the JL 300/4 is really underated or I had a bad Alpine V12. The crossovers on the JL are trully impressive, I think they are the best onboard X-overs I have ever seen on an amp. They are fully variable between 50-5000Hz with percise clicks and offer selectible 12 or 24 dB per octave slopes independently on each channel. This is JL's first line of amps, JL has always been known for quality and they really did their homwork on this amp. I heard the Bruce McMillan (not shure on the spelling) designed the amp for JL. This man Is supposed to be one of the leaders in Car Audio. He designed amps for Xtant and make some serious amplifiers. JL amps are pricey but they are worth every red cent. Remeber you get what you pay for ;)

Underrated power. Listed as 75watts x4 continous into 1.5 to 4ohms. Carsound tested it, and it put out 95watts continous x4 into reactive loads which is more like real life speaker than resistive loads. Love the looks esp. when back lit with neon.

Weakness:

You are kidding right? Ok, may be a 150 x4 amp in the future? Although that would mean I have to buy new speakers since there's no way my kenwoods can take that.

Amazing build quality, doesn't get hot. Looks tre kool! Awesome power. Powers my 2 sets of kenwood dualmag components. Man, they sing. I can play them so loud yet the music doesn't distort. Amazing! Not to mention all the crossovers and other tools you get to tweak your sound.

Solid contruction; this amp is a well throught out design that incorparates and expands on many features that other amp manufacture''''s do not.

Weakness:

I really cannot think of any, except of a model that has 100-150 watts per 4 channels in it''''s model line up. I don''''t like the idea that it Korean maded, but I do understand, in order, to bring the amp to market at the intended price point JL Audio, "probably", had to make outside the US.

I was looking for an amp to replace my two stolen PG TI amps without investing too much money. I did my amp research and settled on the this amp. Mostly due to the favorable article write-ups. Looking at the amp, it is a well thought out design, and it performs admirably! I enjoy all of the features: variable 50 Hz through 5000 Hz crossover, switichable headunit signal voltage, solid RCA input jacks, switchable 12 or 24 db slope, and the ablity to ultize the tri-mode operations. This amp has the across-the-board attributes that I was looking for. I believe that JL Audio has built a quality amp, and will develop a strong following.

Very clean amp, crips highs sizzling mid bass, even at high volumes no distortion. Makes my MOMOs sing. And it looks great in my car.

Weakness:

need a little more power, a 600/4 would be an excellent next step.

In a nutshell, by far the best amp I have heard and delivers everything promised by JLAudio. I paid full price for the amp when it fisrt came out and I have no regrets. The amp is worth its wieght in gold.

Strength:

does not and will not distort. my highs have never sounded as controlled nor as smooth than with this amp. regulated at 75x4- plenty for highs/mids. not a chance in the world it will overheat. the 20khz range rings out with silky warmth and smooth transition while lower frequencies maintain a firm bass range without getting muddied or drowned. (also looks great mounted end-to-end with my 500/1)

Weakness:

retail price. i was lucky enough, though, to get a huge discount on this amp(many thanx, chris).

jl had obviously spent a lot of time and energy in creating their extensive line of subwoofers. the result was a line of subs that pushed the envelope on bass reproduction and quality and set new reference standards for us to live by. logically, the next step was to construct a line of amplifiers that would do their subs and/or component sets justice... and the 300/4 gives me exactly what i needed in a 4ch amp. absolute integrity regardless of volume. (75x4 goes a long way)

Sounds amazing. Superb construction quality. Excellent crossovers. Quality connections.

Weakness:

I cant find any yet.

Very well made amplifier. Quality construction is evident from every angle. Some people get upset about the variable power supply that always delivers the correct power for the load its pushing. If you want bragging rights about huge wattage, look for another amp. If you’re looking for super accurate, detailed and smooth power, no matter what kind of load you are pushing, this is the way to go. This amp sounds amazing, I mean really good. The great part is it sounds great really loud as well.
